So what the men started doing it first, that doesn't mean a woman can't do it either. Sure they[the men] are faster and stronger than us, it still doesn't mean there should not be more respect or support for the wnba.
I know when you look at the numbers there's not much to look at but ask any wnba player if the league is successful. I don't know what they will say for sure but I have an idea. They'd probaly say "looking at the numbers,no, the wnba is not successful but a least now ,compared to 20 years ago, I have a league that I can call my own." That's something like Diana Taurisia said. And that's exactly why the WNBA should be more supported and respected- THE WOMEN FINALLY HAVE A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN.
Eversince title IX went into effect in 1979, women in sports has increased dramatically. If you go into a high and ask a All-American national stand-out like Seimone Augustus,5-years ago what she want's to do with baseketball it would have been something like: Go go Louisiana State University and play 4-damn good years of then ,of course, go into the Wnba and becaome rookie of the year-Im sure it would have been something like that.
Now think about what she would've said and done if their wasn't a wnba. Well we would not really even care but, now because of the wnba girls like that-that can ball better then most of the boys-can dream of going to league and working while doing something they love just like the boys do.
So to anyone who has a "6'4" daughter whose on the high school basketball team and is damn good and getting attention from SEC,ACC, and Big East schools, take them to their future and let them help in supporting and respecting a real woman and the league.
