Love is…
Growing up as a toddler I loved to watch Barney. I loved it so much that I had a stuffed dinosaur I called Barney even though he wasn’t Barney. The show was famous for its ending theme song. “I love you, you love me, we’ll all one big happy family.” I was the only student in my kindergarten class. I was excluded from the outside world, but I was soon in the first grade with over a dozen students. I soon learned that my classmates didn’t like the show Barney, his love, nor his songs. Instead they sang, “I hate you, you hate me.” I becamed ashamed of Barney, and stopped watching his show. But there was one other song I liked to sing. “Oh how I love Jesus.” Nothing in the world could separate me from the love of Chirst. I’m not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. And with the love of Christ, and the Gospel we are taught to love.
But what about those who seem to hate you, such as; The stranger. The bum in downtown pontaic. The crazy lady down the street. The mean neighbors that called the police for a noise violation. The person that said you couldn’t do it.. The doctor that said there is no hope. The professor that flunk you. The manager that fired you. The Person who talked bad about you. The person who doesn’t have the same morals or standereds as you The person who doesn’t believe in the same God or religion as you. The person who doesn’t believe in God or a god. The muderer that killed your family. The theif that robbed you at gun point. The dictator that took over the world. What do you do when they hate you? You just want to hate them! You just want to hold a grudge and say, “That’s not fair!” “I was ripped off!” “I was punked!” “I was scammed” He took the batteries from my gameboy when I wasn’t looking! My bank went bankrupt, and all my monies is gone! That greeter at Wal*Mart was strange I didn’t like her. Kick the dust and pout as you plot vengence upon them!
But in Matt. 5:44 it is written that I have to love them, do good things for them, and pray for them. These three steps will help you with anyone that may hate you if it be a co-worker or just some random person.
I look at this and I singe! I love God, but if I don’t love my enemiy’s then I’m a liar. Flat out liar. To love someone who seems to hate me is a godly task. In fact do you ever feel weighed down from the world at times? When no one is around it’s just you and yourself in the car or at home, and your just frustrated. You just start to worry, Getting frustrated, flabergasted, stressed? You wonder, “Why such hard times? Why so much hurt? Why our we all so serious?” It’s just a bad week, everything went wrong. Plans were foiled, and blame the world or blame God and you shout out, “Why God? Why did my friend not accept you! Why do my parents fight? Why am I tempted with this one sin that I can’t get rid of! Why does it seem like the world and everyone in it hates ME!?!?!”
I believe God would say, "it it is written in John 15:18-19 If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, the world hates you.”
And now you have an answer. But out of your curiosity you may ask God, “Then if they hated you what did you do? What did you do for the world even though they hated you?
?”
God filled with power and authority may answer, ”I so loved the world, that I gave my only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Me would not perish, but have everlasting life. This was written about Me in John 3:16.
They told me that they hated me! I told them that I loved them. I told the unfaithful, I told the unloving, I didn’t care I will love You! How much you hate me is how much I love you."
The world hated him, and he knew it, but no matter what, He gave us salvation. If God can do this for the world, then I can love you even beyond my own understanding. If God was able to overcome the world then I can love you. God was able to practice what he preached. He loved us so much that he died on the cross, and rosed on the third day! Departed and later gave out His Spirt known as the Holy Ghost so He could dwell in us. And He is coming back soon!
