Brutality?

Lately, I've been reading a lot about police-related brutality. It's not anyone hearing stories from the wrong side to make police look bad, or me holding anything against the police to begin with, but just today I've found a few articles on the subject.

There was one story about a man involved with the airforce, who had come back from Iraq and has been drinking a little bit. He went on a chase with a police officer, and when the officer finally got him, he was compliant. The officer told him to stand up, and as he was about to stand up, the officer shot him three times. The officer was cleared of all charges. Hm.

Then, there's this story on CNN currently about a woman who was tasered multiple times, over and over, constantly. I can understand tasering someone for kicking the window of a police car, but for god's sake, not for much else shown in that video.

It's sad, but when I think about police brutality, they're either cleared of all/most charges, or put on a leave for a little bit. That's about it, and it's sad.

What causes these incidents? Is it racial, like many people accuse, or is it just the stress accumulated by officers coming out in a negative way?

It needs to stop.

I would like to agree with you. But I cannot due to the fact that I do not know the truth of what happened before the policemen attempted the take in the criminals. What if the "victims" were threatening the officers? If you get arrested for whatever reason, you have to obey the law...even if you've done nothing wrong. You can prove your innocence to the court. My mother got a ticket for no reason once. I was in the car with her. Policemen are also businessmen. They need money to support their family yet have a respectable career. The more tickets they give, the more arrests they have, the more money comes into the police station...I think. Unless someone cares to enlighten me. I think some policemen just go too far, but you should hear them out as well to what's really going on. The tape doesn't show the whole thing...I'd like to see the full version.
