Gay marriage is quite the controversial topic, there are many different opinions by many different people. I would like to offer mine. I am straight but I support gay rights not only because I have friends who are homosexual or bisexual, but because we need to tear down the cultural, social, and economical roles. We need to stop building barriers between us and live as we should together in peace. Also because the government should not be allowed to restrict our personal lives. Love isn’t practical, its emotional you can’t control it. Who you love, who you fall for, it is all sort of spontaneous you don’t know who you will fall in love with and you don’t know when it will happen.
Everyone has rights it doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, what you wear, your religion, your sexual orientation, your economic status, everybody has rights and everybody deserves to be treated equally. I for one do not think it is right that gay people are not allowed to get married. Marriage is a holy union between two people who are in love, it is only fair for two gay men or two gay women to be allowed to profess their love in the highest form, and letting not only their partner know but the world know that they love each other and they want to be together forever.
People need to stop trying to control other people’s lives, stop acting like one characteristic of being is higher than the others. Everybody is human, every deserves their rights, quit being so judgmental and just let people be.

I'm with you all the way on this one. We are all just human, after all, and deserve the same treatment.
"People need to stop trying to control other people’s lives, stop acting like one characteristic of being is higher than the others. Everybody is human, every deserves their rights, quit being so judgmental and just let people be." Are you saying we should leave all the criminals alone and let criminals be? We need people to control other people. Without leaders who control others, there will be no order or peace in our world. If we let terrorist be terrorist and serial killers be serial killers, many innocent lives will be lost. The purpose of government is to control its people for the better. You said everyone is human. I disagree. The terrorist in the middle east and Bob Barker are far from human. Terrorist aren't human, they're monsters. They belong in the movie Monster's Inc. Live long and hate Barney.
Comparing gay people to serial killers and terrorists is more than a little absurd. One of the most basic tenets behind the concept of "human rights" is the right to be secure in one's person. Gay people do not as a group represent any harm to your rights or person, and as such it is unreasonable for you to enact controls over actions which do not impact you in any meaningful way.

Terrorists are human, and in many cases have motives similar to our own, and it is imperative for our own good that we understand this. They rationalize mass murder the same way we rationalized Dresden and Hiroshima. It's the same old song.
Having said that, no, accepting homosexuals is not at all the same thing as accepting terrorism, or crime of any sort. I mean, does that even need to be argued?
I knew somebody was gonna bust out with that, I didn't mean It like that I meant it in how we all have equal rights and to stop trying to suppress others and stuff you know?
Change is emminent lets face it the world is in for a serious awakening
Human rights campaign statements = HRC
Barack understands that religions DO have a right to their beliefs. However, Barack also understands that SOME religions accept gay marriage. Barack also says in his youtube debate that as a president he is not using his religous beliefs to deterimine law.
THE following are HRC statements the top three gave a few months ago:
Clinton says
""I would like to see federal benefits extended to
same sex couples that meet certain standards.""
""I support repealing the provision of DOMA that may
prohibit the federal government from providing
benefits to people in states that recognize same sex
marriage. ""
""I strongly support ensuring people in stable,
long-term same sex relationships have full equality of
benefits, rights, and responsibilities.""
Clintons above three statements have me concerned
she is side stepping in what she says as not
to commit to anything officially.
she would amend the provisions of DOMA in certain
standards. Her husband and her were the ones who got
us DOMA which Barack has wanted to erase ever since
the clintons had it installed as law. Barack obama
and John edwards want to repeal DOMA which is good for
us.
"Obama is the only candidate who supports long-term,
same-sex relationships regardless of length of time
those couples have been together.
Edwards
""I believe that couples in committed, long‐term
relationships should have the same rights,
benefits, and responsibilities, whether they are
straight couples or same‐Sex couples.""
Edwards above statement, is the only one in the area of
civil unions i am concerned about. Because straight
people don't have to be in long term committed
relationships to get married / civil unions.
However, edwards does want to repeal the DOMA bill
that the clintons levied on us in the 90's, which is a
good thing for edwards.

with the huge numbers of marriages that end in divorce these days, I'm not sure how anybody can still use the "protecting the sanctity of marriage" argument for not extending the right to gay couples. I'm going to go out and a limb here and say that if gay marriage became a universal American right, the divorce rate would go down (at least for a few years, anyway), since people who really want to get married would be able to.
...since "sanctity" is a religious term (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/sanctity), and our Constitution specifically forbids laws that rely on religious justificaitons.
