What President to vote for?

I have never voted before, but as this country comes about people have to make a stand one day and choose to vote for themselves. This will be my first time voting for presidency and I wonder what sets these Obama and McCain apart.

John McCain:
He Voted YES on killing restrictions on violent videos to minors.
...........................limiting death penalty appeals.
...........................on defining unborn child as eligible for SCHIP.
...........................on prohibiting same-sex marriage...etc
His voting record at:

goes on and on about what he believe is good for this country...etc.
What stands out the most about this person? Why would someone vote for him?
Obama has a plan to change the No Child Left Behind to the Zero to Five Plan. This plan will provide critical support to young children and their parents. He wants to cut taxes, provide alternative fueling resources, and he intends on making college affordable.
What actually stands him out the most?
What stands out the most about this person? He has several options at the website:

I believe that it is important to have quality and at the most, I prefer free healthcare. I believe that war should have ended a long time ago, and I don’t see a need for Iraq to still need soldiers. I believe that students should receive more money for college. I even see a need for young children to have a free summer camp to participate in every year. There is a need to have better teachers in public schools. I am not really particular with what happens with same-sex marriages. I believe that cloning should be legal and research for alternative fuel should be given. Welfare assistance should be provided longer for those who need them and the prices for everything need to drop tremendously.

Who are you voting for?

He's also said that he thinks war with Iran is a "possibility that is maybe closer to reality than we are discussing..." (1) As if that wouldn't be a complete and total disaster.
