Big Brother Is Watching: tens of millions of Americans phone records given to the NSA

If you have read Orwell's 1984, Then you most certainly remember the passage, "War Is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Stregth." Well unforunatly our government has taken a turn to the worst, and even more horrible, Americans do not seem to be paying attention.

So for those who have, you all remember the last NSA scandal that has been going on since 2001. The United States government has been illegally tapping our phones without a warrant, or as I like to phrase it, illegal warrantless wiretapping. For those of you who argue that "we need to do this in a timely manner, and a warrant would slow us down," then keep in mind that the FISA Act of 1978 allows the government to wiretap first, and then get the warrant within 72 hours of the wiretap. And second, we have a constitution in this country, and the Fourth Amendment of the Bill of Rights clearly states that the right from unreasonable searches and seizures without a warrant shall not be infringed.

Now the whitehouse assured us that no domestic calls are being monitered. They also assured us that their were weapons of mass destruction. Today, a USA Today report announced that the NSA has collected tens of millions of phone records from American Citizens without a warrant. Not only was no warrant obtained, but AT&T, Verison and Bell South voluntarely gave up our records. We, as Americans, Need to be outraged, and need to sue these three companies as a public warning to big business that we are not controlled by them, we control you.  I hope for the best of our country, and may we never become a nazi state.
