A Portrait of Poop

Last summer I had the amazing opportunity to visit the Masai Mara in Kenya for a missions trip.  I experienced some of the most amazing things while I was there.  There are sure to be many posts (and hopefully pictures) of my travels there, but as I was in the mood for a little lightheartedness after a 60 hour work week (gotta somehow pay for college expenses), here is just a little something fragrant for laughs.  There are too many depressing and stressing things out there today; sometimes you just got to sit back and take a whiff of a big pile of fresh elephant dung.

While we were in Kenya, we did have an opportunity to spend a weekend on safari at one of the most well-known wildlife parks in all of Africa.  The Masai Mara offered nature at its best.  We saw elephants, leapords, antilope, hippos, lions (simbas), girrafes (twiggas), and zebras....and all the natural stuff that goes along with it!  There was this guy who was with us (actually our jr. high youth pastor) and for some odd reason, he is facinated with feces.  To be fair to him, he did warn us ahead of time.  But come on, we were not about to take this guy seriously...the one who showed up to church in a wrestling singlet the first Sunday he introduced himself to the youth group.  Anyways, he is an amazing photographer, especially when the subject matter involves a giant mound of fragrant dung.  Here we were, bouncing along in our mutatus (the little safari vehicles), taking marvelous pics of all of Africa's wildlife.  "Look at that!" everyone exclaimed when a lion sauntered up within a literal six feet of our vehicle.  Now Tyler did take some awesome shots of the animals themselves but later going back through his pictures, he had a greater amount of pics of the stuff that comes out of the animals!  I must admit, it made for some pretty serious laughter among our group!
