Hmm...Which Minority Should We Target Next?

I would love an explanation of why people take issue with gay marriage.

Here in (supposedly) liberal-minded Oregon, the topic of gay marriage was a heated one recently. Students and adults alike adorned their binders and car bumpers, respectively, with “One man, one woman” and “Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve” slogans – clever the first time, incessant the other 100. Opponents of gay marriage harped on and on about the “sanctity of heterosexual unions” and homosexuals’ potential to “threaten other marriages” by getting married themselves.

So here’s my question: What magical force threatens heterosexual marriages when homosexuals jump on the bandwagon? Is anyone familiar with couples who divorced or separated because their gay neighbors opted for a more permanent expression of love? Is there some kind of airborne disease gay marriages spread to everybody else?

No? This begs the question, then: Why does everybody care so much? What is wrong with just leaving everybody, gay or straight, white or black, Christian or Muslim, alone to live their own lives? Gay marriage, in reality, affects no one but the persons directly involved. It does not “threaten” other marriages, unless there has been a sudden bout of affairs out of anger at homosexuals. The bottom line? Just leave people alone. There’s no reason to target minorities – unless, of course, you sympathize with our good friend Adolf Hitler.

against those who are open minded about their sexuality prefference. Though I was raised to believe in having a one man and one woman marriage. I am a huge fan of a famous Mexican Pop group known as RBD. One of their members is gay, he did not come out, he was exposed to come out by paparazzi's. Though it seemed as a big deal to some, to many fans such as myself it was not a shock to find this out. I mean one has the right to choose their preference as they pleased. No one asked them or made them become what they are. As long as I know who I am and how I believe, others actions should not affect me as they are told to be. Most fans accepted the news while others tended to loose their interest for the group, though the group kep getting stronger by the minute. I believe that the group should be not be criticized by their choice of lifestyle, but what they have to bring musically wise. One should never be judge. One is judge through their own eyes and by those that care for them (GOD, or for those of other religion their go to person belief. It's quite sad how the world still has trouble accepting certain issues though accept other issues quite with open arms.
