Could You Live Without It?

Well, believe it or not, I have been sitting here today thinking about history and inventions. I find it fascinating that people were able to sit down and just come up with all of these ideas. Take gravity, for instance; who would have even thought that there is a force in the center of the Earth pulling everything at 9.8 m/s2? Well, Isaac Newton, obviously, but it's just incredible that he came up with the entire concept of gravity sitting under a tree one day.

So anyway, I'm sitting here thinking and I became quite curious as to what your favorite invention would be and why. And, in contrast, what would you not be able to live without had it not been invented?

Mine would probably be the internet. It's truly amazing that I can post a blog, pay my electric bill, buy a pair of shoes, and sell a lamp without leaving my chair. And of course there's all of the lines of communication that have been opened by the creation of the world wide web. Who needs REAL friends when you have hundreds of cyber-buddies? Well, I won't take it too far. I guess I need some human interaction every once in a while.

Now for the difficult question....what couldn't I live without? Well, I have given it a lot of thought and I have decided that I probably would not under any circumstances be able to live without soap. I know it's kind of simple, and maybe even stupid, but I honestly cannot live with myself if I am not clean.

I am being serious. Someone had to actually sit down and think, "I sure do smell bad, what can I do to eliminate the odor?" Maybe they didn't ask it exactly like that, but I DID do some reading on the creation of soap and found these pages very interesting:

I honestly think it is amazing that anyone thought of soap and the chemicals that will remove grease and oils from skin. Just some food for thought....

I don't think I could really not have underwear. I mean how uncomfortable. Obviously I am not the only one who thinks that because, that is why it was invented! I am really being serious here though, so don't think I am making light of your blog, I promise :]

Underwear though, I realize some people don't wear it and that their choice. Personally, I couldn't do it. Plus i couldn't wear dresses or skirts and that is no fun when it is 100 degrees outside.

I never even though of that! It would feel weird without underwear :) But imagine if there were no laundry detergent to wash your underwear.....I would be spending a fortune buying new panties every week!

Did you know that commercial soap is damaging your skin? Read up on the topic here:

Just thought I'd throw that out there. I couldn't live without soap either. Or underwear. Or clothes for that matter... but I'm a needy person.
