China, an enemy of a U.S in denial.

I was watching the new yesterday and it was said that the US and China signed a "food-safety pact" http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/lifestyle/health/chi-wed_foodsafe.... The problem is today again some children toys were recalled because the contained deadly amounts of lead, about 600 times the allowed amount. I just wonder why China is a nation we us trade with.

A few weeks ago a US military ship was to dock on the Hong Kong harbor of China to escape a storm and refuel. The Chinese government refused to allow the ship on their harbor. This act was not only a wrong thing to do because we had a "relationship" with China, but it was also wrong because anywhere in world; it is the normal etiquette to help anybody in trouble on the seas whether friend or foe. China apologized for that event but in the same week they did the same thing to service men who were to perform a yearly tradition and meet their family members during thanksgiving at that same Hong Kong harbor.

Apart from being hostile to us on their soil, they have carried out military "exercises" with Russia during times when tensions between Russia and the US were high and refused our attempts to impose sanctions on rogue nations. My problem is not that China is acting like an enemy, my problem is that the US is in denial. We don't want to face the fact that China has made it's statement clearly.

Why should we still treat them as if we are dealing with a friend and not a mere business partner. I believe we should start investing in other countries and boycotting China. Their products have not only made people sick in this country; it has killed. I hope one day our leaders would wake up and realize that China is no more a friend and isn't afraid to show it.

Excellent post,
China has been and will be a continued threat.
In the years to come it will continue to threaten Liberty around the world.

Why is China a nation we trade with? Because we left big business up to big business. We adopted laissez faire and big business decided to outsource to China because it's so much cheaper. And it's caused our dollar to fall. But, also, if we pull out of China, they'll drop all the USD they've got and the dollar will fall even farther. Big business has built this giant trap and got America stuck in it.

I'd say the opposite of Your Funeral Guy. China is already taking the correct steps to become the largest democratic country on the planet, economic reform. China is following the best path on becoming a liberal democratic society. I would guess that they allow further economic development and after that comes political reform. It won't happen tomorrow but I've already gone on record that in 30 years China will be liberal, democratic, and rivaling the US for world dominance. (I don't mean that in a bad way either, although problems may eventually arrive.)

30 years. Start the countdown world.

Two things you need to do....
1)Read my post about cyber terrorism that talks a little about the precarious relationship between China and the United States.
2)Understand that this world is movtivated by money and if there is a profit to be made, the United States would comply whether they are dealing with friend or foe. This is just another example of how sometimes "money can be the root to all evil."

Ok, I lied....Do three things. Pat yourself on the back because this was yet another thought-provoking and excellent post. ;-)
