America is not paved with gold. It's paved with defaulted loans.

Dear Illegal Immigrants,

Please stop coming to our country thinking it's perfect. It's far from it. As our debt mounds up from an increasing 400 billion dollar war, a highly unstable stock market, and our "underground economy" growing, we push ourselves to a new low. I'm not trying to promote hate here, it's fine if you LEGALLY immigrate here. But please stop working illegally. It is adding to our disruption in the economy. You can talk about how you're working very hard.. And I respect that, you probably are.. But you should be working hard to become a citizen. Don't blame the system for being too slow. Fight for us and you're citizenship will be sped up. If you really want to make it here atleast start it off right. Don't be wasting your time working illegally, it will eventually bring upon our demise. Then where will you be after that? Back where you started... Stop blaming your own country for problems and start opening your eyes. And for those of you who still like your homecountry(which still awes me today), why don't you just stay living there and stop bring US money home. That just angers me so much. Places like Mexico don't like Americans, yet their people keep coming here. Well Mexicans, if you don't like Americans stop coming here please. You can keep your polluted air.

Best Regards,
La Migra

With gas prices on the rise, you'd think these people would be staying away from our country. I don't get it.

Man, our country is so screwed up right now. It's sad.

The second largest contributor to Mexicos economy is money sent to Mexico by immigrants in the United States. That's money they get apart from NAFTA and other one-sided trade deals. But hey, they've gotta get paid.

You're right. It;s kinda sad that they claim America is so great yet, they're sending all their money home... When I was debating about this topic, his response was, "Right, that's because they don't want to bring their families over illegally. If they were granted amnesty then money would stay in the US." The point can be true in some cases, but most of the time it isn't. The US dollar is worth more than the mexican dollar hence the reason why mexicans live on almost no food and live in small houses with a lot of people. Because they are gaining the most money from our economy. When they bring it home, they're essentially rich. Now, I'm not saying it's that easy, ofcourse there are other variables to this.

Immigration begets more immigration. Families that are here provide a support network for those who are thinking about coming. There is a reason why illegal Brazillians tend to head for Massachussetts. They have a support network of their fellow countrymen there. The vast majority of illegal aliens that are here now are relatives and friends of illegal aliens that were given amnesty back in 1986. Immigration is a social network driven phenomena.

If we grant amnesty we will get two things:

1) a great increase in legal immigration as newly minted citizens petition for family reunification on behalf of their family members

2) a great increase in illegal immigration just like we did after 1986 because there will be an even greater support network for the people that want to come and because we will have broadcast across the world the message that we don't take our immigration laws seriously and that if you come here illegally you will eventually be allowed to stay.

Have you ever wondered what happens to all those billions that get sent home? A very large percentage of it gets used to pay smuggling fees to coyotes for the next wave of illegal immigrants.

You support NAFTA, yes?

Yea, i agree with what you said, immigrants are more than welcome in America, but illegal immigration is one more handicap America is facing which is making it more and more impaired everyday.

I agree with what you stated totally. I feel some what bad for the immigrant that are coming from Cuba. They were sneaking in on boats. The person who is in charge over there is really screwed up. But immigrants really do need to get citizenship. The screwed up thing is if an immigrant is not a citizen they don't get taxed. That is totally not fair.

I agree with you on this one (gasp!). :) I have a big problem with people from anywhere coming to this country and then complaining about it, not paying taxes, or wanting a free handout.
