An Accident that I will NEVER Forget

I recently moved from one school to another about two years ago but some of my family still lives where my old school is located. I still keep in touch with my old friends through the internet. This morning I logged on to MySpace and everyone's headline said RIP Brian. All I knew was Brian. Brain Who? Then I read another girls headline. RIP Brian Wilson. That was when it hit me one of the kids I grew up with had passed away some way or another. So I called the girl to hear the painful news.

The conversation was probably the most upsetting conversation that I ever took part in considering I never lost anything close to me.

She picked up the phone and said hello?
I said what happened to Brian.
It was that second that the tears began to fall.

She said, "Oh it was horrible. Our big group of friends was driving home from Ocean City for senior week when it happened. Brian was in the passenger's seat and his friend Nathan was driving. A chair had fallen out of the truck in front of him so he swerved by reaction. When he swerved, a car going 90 mph on a 45 mph road clipped the passenger side of the car, breaking Brian's neck. Brian was taken to the hospital which was very close to the incident but doctors said that he dies on the scene."

What was I supposed to say back? All I could say was, "Now he is in a better place, and his family and friends will all be in my thoughts and prayers."

I found this information all out this morning and it had happened late last night around 11 PM. All day I have really been thinking about life. I mean I can't even imagine the trama that his parents, siblings, and family is going through. This incident has helped me realize that someone can be taken at any time any place and you never know when or where. I am sure there are people that regret many things that they did that were involved with Brian's life but none of them can hold the blame. I now take things in life such as phone calls and even goodbyes much more seriously because you never know when something such as horrible and disheartening as this can happen.

I would like to say one last thing. To Brian thank you for teaching me such a valuable lesson in life before it was too late. You are now in a place that will cause you no harm and where you can see the world. We will all look up to you knowing that you care and knowing that one day we will see you again.
