Missing pesons is a hard thing to deal with and it happens all too often. why cant we seem to prevent this problem?

In Bob Franken’s national CNN article Scores search for Boy Scout as Amber Alert issued it discusses the facts about a lost 12 year-old boy, Michael Audberry. Michael went missing a
North Carolina camp sight; he is a boy scout. The temperatures drop to the 20’s at night but “As long as he can stay dry he can stay alive for a couple of days” says Dave Bauer from the Blue Ridge Parkway National Park Service. There are over 100 people currently searching for Michael and they have narrowed down the area.

The world article 74 confirmed dead in Russian mine explosion written by Matthew Chance of CNN explains the blast in
Siberia that killed 74 people and left 43 missing. The cause of the blast was not mentioned in the article. There were 200 miners inside at the time of the blast and 83 have been rescued. The mine is located in Novokuznetsk, about 1,850 miles east of
Moscow in area with some of the world’s largest coal deposits. Apparently mining accidents are a common occurrence.

Both articles show how dangerous it is to be lost. They display different situations where people are missing and what steps are taken to find them. In Siberia they at least know where to look for the miners unlike in
North Carolina they aren’t exactly sure where Michael went or what happened to him. Both of these could have been prevented if more cautions steps were taken. In fact both of these incidents are fairly common which is sad. Missing people is hard on families and friends. The searches are continuing for Michael and the miners.
