Last night's LOST

I just had to write about last night's episode. It was the best episode for Season 3 so far. I have a bunch of questions though. How are there two islands? If there is one island for the others, why were they so against them "crossing the line"? And wouldn't Desmond have noticed if he was traveling by boat trying to leave the island? And how did Hurley get back if he was on the Others island, unless they went there after they let him go?  I was shocked that Sawyer has a daughter. I wish he would let himself care for other people. I know he loves Kate. But will he ever tell her? I wonder if I was the only one who was kinda glad that one of the Others died (Colleen). It was just nice to see that some of the Others (besides Ben who didn't seem to care) are human and have emotions. I really, really want to know which one of the Others has the tumor in their spine. Now we know why they captured Jack. But I still want to know why they chose Sawyer and Kate. Is it some kind of experiment to see how much they care about each other or what? Anyone else obsessed with this show, like me?

My fiance and I watch Lost every week. Though, we missed the first season, but watched the re-runs. My thoughts about Lost are this: There are two islands--the one that the Others are on, monitors the second island with the rest of the survivors. Though, I am not sure why yet. Maybe, some weird experiment? I think that the Others chose Jack, Sawyer, and Kate because they are the leaders of the survivors. I think that the want new people to be apart of their "Others" group for the future crashes that occur on the second island.

My opinion on your questions: I think the Others were on the second island with all of the survivors, and then left to go to the other island, where they have Jack, Sawyer, and Kate locked up. The Others didn't want them to "cross the line" because they might have found the dock, or seen the Other's island. Maybe even for controlling purposes. It seems like Desmond would have seen the Other's island, unless he set sail from the opposite side and was heading away from both of them. When he managed to come back, he was below deck, maybe he didn't see the Other's island. I don't think that Hurley was ever on the Other's island. He only made it as far as the dock. I do think that Sawyer will express his feelings towards Kate eventually. He may have to express them if Kate is showing too much emotion towards Jack. It was nice to see that one of the Others died. Since the beginning it has been an "us" and the Others. Of course I am cheering on the "us". I think that Ben is the one with the tumor. The preview for next week showed Jack talking to him and about the tumor.

This show definitely has the audience "lost". There are so many factors that play in, but don't make sense. At some points, you think you can make a prediction, but then something new is revealed and it changes. One of my fiance's theories is that it is almost like "The Truman Show".

A couple of things that still make me wonder are the "black mist" and the "polar bear". Maybe some sort of symbolism?

By the way, glad that you started this blog. I like discussing theories about Lost, and even just talking about the show to remember some small things that other people may remember.
