Alot of selfish people

I have noticed something with a few people on this site. I understand I have only been here a few weeks but I see a trend. Many people just want you to read their blog but don't seem to want to go and explore other blogs. If they do go and explore other blogs they just seem to go to the most recent ones.

I actually spend hours on this website going through the many pages of blogs because I really want to read them. I enjoy reading people's blogs and making comments. I seem to see one word comments on some blogs and there really is no point to it. Doesn't everyone enjoy recieving comments? Yes you probably do so why don't you do others a favor and make comments or rate their blogs.

I first got on here for the scholorship but after I got on here I realised that it should not be about that. I have strictly seen a lot of people state that "I am on here for the money." So i by pass those blogs. For one thing that is idiotic to state that.

I realised that if I don't win it will be given to some one else that needs it more than I do. I can scrap up money it's really no big deal I can work hard for the money and be proud of it. For once in my life I can help people and maybe make a difference in their life by reading their blogs. My voice that has been silent for so long can actually be heard.

Many blogs that aren't recent are slowly moving to the bottom of the list because so many people are creating blogs. Some blogs are getting kind of old to read. I don't want to read about how great Obama is please spare me the time. The one I created about him was because I was getting so sick and tired of reading the other ones.

So I go through the pages to read others blogs and I see some that haven't even been read by anyone that are really good blogs. This is telling me that people created a bunch of blogs after that person pushing their blog down the line. So I read the blog and I make a comment and even rate it.

Focus on other people not yourself! scroll through the many pages of the older blogs and read them and make comments if you feel you want to. Those blogs are getting neglected and need some well deserved attention. Don't get me wrong read the new blogs but everyone please don't be so self spend some extra time you have to read the older blogs and make comments (more than one word) you just might make someone's day!

I read your entry. ;-)

I am so addicted to reading blogs on this site. I spend more time on here than I used to spend refreshing livejournal and checking people's away messages in college. It's a good website when people follow the rules and post entries with substance. If they don't, I maybe skim through them, if I'm super bored, and click the link to another blog.

I have to stop typing now though. I slept last night, so I have a lot of blogs to catch up with. :-)

I'll admit that I found this site off of FastWeb and thought that I might try for the scholarship. However, after about a day on this site I became addicted. I stopped caring about the scholarship and just started caring about the blogs. I love reading the blogs and seeing other people's opinions. If I've read all of the current blogs, I move on to all the older ones I might have missed or read some of the previous blogs a blogger that I liked wrote. I actually spend more time reading blogs than I do writing my own.

I'm new to this whole thing, and have been a member for only two days. I too was drawn here for the scholarship, but know it has become a mini-hobby. I enjoy looking to see what other people have posted, and see their opinions. This site should give us a chance to explore new ideas, and read about what others think, not just sharing our own ideas. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention.

You are absolutely right. It's one of my biggest pet peeves; if someone can't bother to read/comment in my blogs, why should I have to constantly go to theirs to converse on a subject we both wrote about?

I won the $500 scholarship last semester, and a lot of my points came from commenting in and rating other peoples' blogs.

Word.

And RATERATERATE. It drives me nuts when I see a post with many favorable comments but NO RATINGS. Come on people. If you like a post, RATE IT. Especially if it's mine because I mention it in every single blog post so you really should remember. D:

Last week I did an all-nighter on ProU. XD

I was trying really hard to pronounce that until I figured out it was RATE*3 :-P

I hate when people rate based on whether they agree with the writer's opinion or not. I though that was the purpose of comments, while rating was judging the writing style? Maybe I'm wrong.

I rate your blogs. ;-)

Oh, I judge based on my opinion. I'm not going to give a high rating to a person who I think is plain wrong (and generally I think people are wrong due to ignorance or close-mindedness, even more of a reason not to give such a post a high rating). On the other hand, no way would I give a high rating to a post I agree with but think is badly written.

And thank you.

I also enjoy reading everyone's blog. I don't post many blogs, but I sure do read a lot that others have written. I find it fascinating to see what others have to say!

I've been trying to expand my horizons and read all kinds of blogs lately. It seems like I keep only reading the ones that sound interesting. now, I'm trying to read some that either don't sound interesting or are wrtten by a user I haven't heard of. I don't know how I stumbled upon yours tonight.
