Responsibility? Whatever...

Being a leader in a marching band means showing up on time, treating
everyone fairly, leading by example, and most importantly, showing up
on time. The latter is something I have a real hard time doing. Who
really knows why, i just cannot seem to go a week without showing up
late. So then my band director decides to bring this fact to my
attention. "Do you know how many times you've been late this year
Mark?" states my band director. "Not to many, certainly not as many as
last year," I reply. So then he tells me, "Start showing up on time or
else we will get someone else to do the job!!!" Needless to say i was
speechless. I nodded my head and said ok. I felt horrible for the rest
of that practice and it showed. Why was i going to bust my butt for i
job i did not even want. I tried out for the Drum Major position, but
instead i got the field captian position. Now the position is not a bad
position to have at all but i was not what i wanted. Imagine going to a
car dealership and picking out the car you want, signing the papers and
when you get the keys, it is not the car you wanted and you cannot do
anything about it. It was kind of like that. So i guess what i am
trying to say is be careful what you get into. The outcome is not
always good.

Also, a good lesson to learn is be careful what you wish for.
