Chapter Three: The War of Terror, Children, and Ideas
“One day, millions of men will leave the Southern Hemisphere to go to the Northern Hemisphere. And they will not go there as friends. Because they will go there to conquer it. And they will conquer it with their sons. The wombs of our women will give us victory.”
- Houari Boumédienne, former radical dictator of Algeria [died in 1978]
The greatest challenge the West must face in its battle with radical Islam is it’s declining population. Under the Romans, the Western world made up 20-25% of the world’s population. By the beginning of the 20th century, due to a lower death rate, that number was up to 30%. Today we make up 16% of the world, and by 2050 we will only be at 12%. Europe’s population percentage within the contruct of the West is even more disastrous. The birthplace of Western Civilization contained 25% of the world’s population in 1900, but by 2050 will make up only 7%. As a percentage of the world’s population, the West’s population is exponentially declining while the Islamic world has gone through great booms in their population. The Muslim world is also gaining the dynamism that comes with youth, as their population continues to get younger, while Europe is becoming decrepit, aging at a steady rate. Today, only 22% of Germany’s population is under twenty, while that number has reached over 50% in Algeria, which is not uncommon in the Muslim world.
To maintain its current population, a nation must have a Total Fertility Rate, or TFR, of 2.1. The European Union has an average TFR of only 1.5, and by 2050 Western Europe will experience a loss of over 70 million people. That’s like losing all of Great Britain, plus an extra 10 million people, in a matter of 50 years. Europe as a whole will lose nearly 200 million people in the next 100 years. Germany, Italy, and Spain have fertility rates of only 1.4, 1.25, and 1.23 respectively. Ireland, once dealing with the issues of overpopulation, is now struggling with the burden of depopulation. In about 20 years, Ireland’s birthrate has dropped from 2.2 children to only 1.6.
Europe had a population of 422 million in 1900, 548 million in 1950, and 727 million in 2000. But by 2050 its population will drop to 653 million, and in 2100 Europe will be home to only 536 million people. And, if current trends continue, Europe will be reduced to a population of only 59 million by 2300. Although it is difficult to make predictions 300 years into the future, this estimate displays how dire the European situation is.
Over the next century European nations will experience drastic population losses. France will decline from its current population of 60 million to 55 million in 2050, and down to 43 million in 2100. The United Kingdom will decline from 60 million to 53 million in 2050 to 45 million in 2100. Germany’s population losses will be even greater. Germany is currently the largest nation in the European Union with a population of 82 million, but will decline to 61 million in 2050 and a mere 32 million in 2100. The Mediterranean states, once well known for their large extended families, have been decaying at an even faster rate than Northern Europe. Italy has a population of 57 million, which will be reduced to 37 million in 2050 and 15 million in 2100. Spain has 39 million residents which will shrink to 28 million in 2050 and by the end of the century will be home to only 12 million Spaniards.
Eastern Europe is in an even more dangerous position than its Western counterpart. Russia has a fertility rate of only 1.1. The number of births in Russia was only 1.4 million in 1993, down from 2.5 million only 6 years earlier, and Russia’s population is expected to fall from 141 million down to 90 million in 2050. The Russian population is declining by more than 900,000 a year, and and with that number exponentially increasing, many scientists now believe that two-thirds of Russia's territory is as sparsely populated as it was in the Neolithic Age. Hungary has a fertility rate of only 1.3, and if this continues, then by 2040 Hungary's population will drop from 10 million to 6 million. Over the next 40 years, the Czech Republic will lose 1.7 million people, Bulgaria will lose 2.5 million people, and the Ukraine will lose a whopping 20 million people. The Balkan states, who currently have a total population of 53 million, will be reduced to 36 million by 2050 and only 27 million in 2100. Because of these great demographic changes, Macedonia, land of Alexander the Great, was 90% Christian in 1900, but today has a muslim minority of 30%, and within twenty years will have a muslim majority.
Not only is the West’s population shrinking, it’s aging as well. For the first time in human history, countries like Spain, Italy, and Greece, have more people who are over 60 than under 20. By 2050 Italians over the age of 60 years will increase from 25% to nearly 50% of the population. And in Italy’s nanny-welfare state, that means that one half of the population will have to support the other half. Italy currently spends one-third of government spending on its elderly’s pension plan, but because of such low birthrates, and due to the increasing number of elderly in Italy, this number will rise to 60% by 2050. And when the Italian government attempted to raise the retirement age in a desperate attempt to save the welfare state, they were met with fierce strikes which paralyzed the nation for a day. How can the West hope to combat the ferocity of religious extremism when half of its population is living in nursing homes, and the other half cannot improve their economic condition because of high taxation? What kind of shape will Italy’s military be in when sixty percent of its spending is devoted to keeping the elderly supplied with viagra and tapioca pudding?
A hundred years ago Europe was the center of the world; Germany, England, France, and Russia were unparalleled in military and economic achievements. But the last century has not been kind to Europe. They destroyed themselves during World War I and World War II, then their continent was split between the two great economic ideologies of the 20th century; communism and capitalism. Europe has lost its fighting spirit, lost its feeling of self-worth.
Although the United States has TFR of 2.1, and, with the number of immigrants entering America every year the US is slightly above the necessary replacement birthrate, we could still fall victim to the same plight as our European father. And while the birthrate in the Western world has been dropping, Islamic countries have been exponentially increasing in population.
The most notable example is Yemen. Yemen had a population of 4 million in 1950, but has skyrocketed to over 20 million. It’s estimated that in the next 50 years, Yemen’s population will increase to over 100 million people. In 2050 Turkey will contain 100 million inhabitants, Egypt will have 114 million people, and Morocco and Algeria will have populations of 45 million each. The average woman in Saudi Arabia has 6 or 7 kids, and both Nigeria and Pakistan, separately, are estimated to have larger populations than the entire European Union by 2125. Currently, North Africa and the Middle East have populations of 190 million and 214 million respectively. These numbers are expected to skyrocket over the next century, up to 307 million for North Africa and 445 million for the Middle East. That means the Muslim world, just south of Europe, will have a total population of 752 million, compared to Europe’s diminished 536 million.
Now, many of these desert climates cannot hope to support such large populations, so where can the populous migrate? To the south of the Islamic World is sub-saharan Africa, which will be dealing with its own overpopulation, as that region of Africa is expected to increase from 751 million to 1.7 billion people in the next 50 years. Combined with the war and disease which is ever present in Africa makes it not very appealing to the migrants. To the East is India, which is already congested and does not have room for immigrant groups, and Central Asia, which does not contain many economic opportunities, and, like Africa and the Middle East, is going to be dealing with overpopulation. So where will the excess population be forced? They will be funneled north and west, into Europe and Russia, consuming the shrinking ethnic groups and overtaking the European culture.
And the islamic terrorists know this. To them it’s just a waiting game now, as they prepare for the Western Suicide. Through terrorism they are able to demoralize us and make their presence known among the masses. And as they go on suicide missions in Beirut and Jerusalem and Istanbul, they are silently infiltrating the West, knowing that their time has come. Their radical imams are being funded by the politically correct welfare state of Europe, and our own policies are helping the islamofascists destroy us. Although a few European countries have banned the practice of allowing immigrants to bring their families with them, many still continue this suicidal policy. It is very common for a Muslim immigrant, needing a “good” submissive wife, to arrange a marriage with a family in Egypt or Algeria or Iran. The wife-to-be, who has never met her prospective husband, is then sent to Europe, followed by her entire family as allowed by European immigration laws. Then each one of her brothers, new European immigrants, will arrange a marriage with other “good” submissive Muslim women in their home country, and will send for them and their families. The cycle is then repeated indefinitely. These immigrants are usually not well educated, from rural areas and therefore more fundamentalist than their urban brethren, and have no interest in assimilating into the society which has taken them in. They know little if not any European languages and expect the much talked about “welfare checks”. Unlike previous waves of immigrants to America or Europe, these immigrants are coddled, given government funded housing, and a nice income supplement every month. Why should they work or contribute to society if everything is handed to them? And the types of economic conditions they find through welfare are beyond anything they had ever seen in their own countries. In America and Europe, a poor person has a television, a cell phone, and a car. In Pakistan or Morocco or Syria or Iraq, a poor person is likely to starve to death.
Then, once in Europe, the Muslim immigrants continue reproducing at the same rate as they would back in Africa and the Middle East. Though second and third generation immigrants have less children than their parents and grandparents, they still have far more children than their European neighbors. France has one of the highest birthrates in all of Western Europe, and simultaneously has the largest Muslim minority. Although Muslim’s make of 10% of the French population, in many areas it is much higher, such as Marseilles where they are at 25%. Large cities like Paris and Marseilles are surrounded by Muslim ghettos, entire neighborhoods which are made up of Muslim immigrants, and are no-go zones for police. Non-muslim french girls must wear burkas when in these neighborhoods, lest Muslim men decide to rape the “promiscuous infidel pig”. Honor killings are the norm, where, if a Muslim girl is stupid enough to get pregnant or fall in love with a Christian boy, she will be stoned to death. There are many instances of Muslim girls not returning from “vacations” to their home countries, because their families will take them there to perform the honor killing, where it is perfectly legal and even praised. These muslim ghettos are being ruled by sharia law, and if the native population does not do something about their collapsing birthrates, so will all of France.
It’s not only in France. The Netherlands is also dealing with serious muslim immigration problems. The ancient city of Rotterdam is now 25% Muslim, and 50% of babies born in Brussels are Muslims. In Amsterdam the most popular boys name is not Hans or Hansel. It’s Muhammad. The Netherlands is 6% Muslim, Russia is 12% Muslim, Bulgaria is 12% Muslim, Sweden is 5.5% Muslim. Over the last 30 years, the number of Muslims in Europe has tripled, and experts believe it will double again by 2020, making up 10% of the European population. The number of immigrants to Europe, who are mostly Muslim, made up almost 85% of Europe’s population growth in 2005. All over Europe, this invasion continues unabated. Within the end of the 21st century, Western Civilization, at least in Europe, will be consumed by an ever expanding Islamic populous, forever changing its political, cultural, social, and cultural institutions.
You may ask: Why does it matter? Religious worship depends on individual free choices, so why should we care what people choose to believe in? It matters because many examples show that an increasing muslim minority inside a non-muslim country leads to a claim for secession and can culminate in a civil war. That has been the history of India, Cyprus, Lebanon, Bosnia, Kosovo, the Philippines, and modern Thailand and Chechnya. Lebanon became a Muslim majority country amidst a raging civil war, where nearly 5 million Christians migrated out of Lebanon to escape the carnage, brought on by the expanding muslim minority. The wars in the Balkans are also the outcomes of these rapid demographic changes and in the Philippines and Thailand, terrorism and claims for secession are also based on rising muslim communities.
This is not absolute, but we have seen, repeated throughout history, that when Islam proves to be a large minority religion it begins to exert itself on the rest of the populous. They will paint themselves as victims, constantly complaining about a majority which is intolerant of their way of life and demanding more rights than the rest of the population (India and modern Europe). Then, when they begin to concentrate themselves in certain regions and become the majority, the Islamists will take nominal control over that area, instituting their own laws and ruling in all but name (suburbs of Paris), eventually calling for the succession of that region (Thailand, Chechnya, the Philippines). The unrest and turmoil only ends once they become the majority and implement sharia law. This ideology is best articulated by the “Islamic Declaration”, written in 1978 and reaffirmed in 1990, which states:
The Islamic Movement should and must start taking power as soon as it is morally and numerically strong enough not only to overthrow the existing non-Islamic power structure, but also to build a great Islamic Federation spreading from Morocco to Indonesia, from tropical Africa to Central Asia.
The Muslim extremists are not stupid. There is a great difference between ignorance and stupidity, and many ignorant fundamentalists are brilliant masterminds, pulling their strings to influence policies in the West. They are already using our sensitivity to other cultures to trample on our right to free speech. In Europe, those who speak out against radical Islam are being silenced through fear of Muslim retribution, and those who continue to fight are sued under the new “xenophobia” laws which have been passed. A notable example is the author Oriana Fallaci. In 2002 Islamic Center and the Somal Association of Geneva in Switzerland sued her for the supposedly racist content of The Rage and The Pride. In November 2002, a Swiss judge accepted the lawsuit and issued an arrest warrant for violations of article 261 of the Swiss criminal code, requesting that the Italian government must either try or extradite Fallaci. Thankfully, the Italian government was not quite as spineless as the Swiss, and Roberto Castelli, the Italian minister of Justice, said that the Constitution of Italy protects freedom of speech and therefore the extradition request was to be rejected.
After losing their initial case, the Islamists refused to give up. In May 2005, Adel Smith, president of the Union of Italian Muslims, launched a lawsuit against Fallaci charging that “some of the things she said in her book The Force of Reason are offensive to Islam.” This time an Italian judge ordered her to stand trial, set for June 2006 in Bergamo on charges of “defaming Islam.” In a secularized, Western nation, a world renowned journalist, author, and historian, was being charged for writing something that someone else found disagreeable. This is the Eurabia which we have been subjected to, and, in many cases, which we have chosen to accept.
One of the most famous cases, one that is used by liberals to cite why we must employ self-censorship and one that is used by conservatives to cite the destruction of Western values, is the Muhammad cartoon controversy. It is interesting to see how one event can cause completely different reactions from each side of the political spectrum. On September 30, 2005, the daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten published an article entitled “Muhammeds ansigt” (“The face of Muhammad”). The article consisted of twelve cartoons, of which some depicted Muhammad, and an explanatory text, in which Flemming Rose, Jyllands-Posten's culture editor, commented:
The modern, secular society is rejected by some Muslims. They demand a special position, insisting on special consideration of their own religious feelings. It is incompatible with contemporary democracy and freedom of speech, where you must be ready to put up with insults, mockery and ridicule. It is certainly not always attractive and nice to look at, and it does not mean that religious feelings should be made fun of at any price, but that is of minor importance in the present context. We are on our way to a slippery slope where no-one can tell how the self-censorship will end. That is why Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten has invited members of the Danish editorial cartoonists union to draw Muhammad as they see him.
All over the Muslim world, protests erupted, many of which were filled with violence. The Danish and Norwegian embassies in Syria were set ablaze, 139 people, mostly Christian, were killed in Nigeria, Lybia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, and the artists who drew the Muhammad cartoons were forced into hiding after several death threats were made. The Chaimberlains of the West saw this as an example for self-censorship, that we cannot say or print anything which may be offensive to other groups, especially Muslims. But many average Europeans, for the first time in decades, began to understand that self-censorship will lead to the destruction of free speech, and the destruction of Western culture. They found the reaction of Muslims deplorable, and a new generation of Chuchills were born. Amazingly enough, Denmark, the center of socialism in Europe, has begun to take a strong stance against Islam, as their multicultural attitudes begin to wane.
But it is still not enough. Canada has already seen attempts to institute sharia law through the judicial system in 2003, and the extremist will not give up. They are going through the courts, biding their time until they find the right judge who will give in to their demands. We have one hand tied behind our backs, as our own laws and systems restrict us in our battle against islamic fundamentalism.
Like the Hagia Sophia, St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican may be whitewashed within the next hundred years and transformed into a Mosque. Muslim caterwauls will be heard from Milan to Manchester to Moscow, calling the new Muslim Europeans to morning prayer. We face invasion, and while our democratic institution is the greatest creation of the West, in some sense it is leading to our downfall. Men, women, homosexuals, heterosexuals, rich, poor, whites, blacks, jews, arabs, indians, asians...all have had the right to vote for over 60 years in most of western Europe. Because of this, ambitious politicians no longer have a niche which they can exploit, hoping to garner votes by granting suffrage to a new group. But now they see the rapidly growing muslim population as a new ethnic group to exploit to their advantage. The modern Ephialtes are sacrificing Western Civilization by giving into the demands of the muslim immigrant community, sacrificing us for short-term political gains.
That is why this is not just a War of Terror. Terrorism is the symptom, not the affliction. At this moment, the battle is being waged through ideas. If enough Westerners are educated and understand the problem we face, there may be something we can do to halt the destruction of European culture. We have incredible intellectual crusaders speaking up for the West. These brave men and women are the successors to great defenders of West tradition, made in the image of Themistocles and Churchill. But they are facing great obstacles. The islamofascists have spun their webs, entangling the third world with their anti-western culture and ideologies, and with the use of terrorism have convinced many western powers, such as Spain and Germany, that fighting them is not worth the high death tolls. The terrorists are also being aided by the Ephialtes, by the Chamberlains. The multicultural and socialist proponents in the West are doing all they can, claiming that those who speak out against the injustices in Islam are “islamophobes”, “warmongers”, and “fascists”. Well, if by defending the cultural traditions of a civilization which has brought humanity individualism, liberty, democracy, gender equality, secularism, and capitalism, makes me a fascist then by God, I am a fascist. If calling for the eradication of medieval laws rampant in the Muslim world, which results in the enslavement of an entire gender, if calling for the West to unite and stand up for its culture against the wave of islamic fanatics, if calling for the freedom of millions who squaller in tyranny and totalitarianism in the Islamized states makes me a warmonger, then by God I am a warmonger. And if by pointing out problems inherent in Islam and calling for the emancipation of muslim women, and if siding with the reformists who want an Islamic Reformation, and if calling for freedom to face despotism makes me and islamaphobe, then by God I am an islamaphobe. I will gladly accept all of these titles, knowing that in doing so I am defending western values.
But this proxy war has not just become a battle of ideas, but has become a war of children, not only because of the demographic challenges we face, but because both our cultures are subconsciously sacrificing their children for their own selfish agendas. In the Islamic world it is more obvious. Children are raised to idolize suicide bombers through cartoons which show them as heroic defenders of a people oppressed, through the admiration they see the community give the “martyrs” families, through the speeches they hear the mullahs and the sheiks giving, and many take this admiration to the next level. There is something chilling when one considers that, in their attempts to destroy us, the islamofascists are destroying their own future. They are turning their children into bombs without a second thought, using their young men and women as weapons against us. How many bright futures have been snubbed out because of the brainwashing tactics of these islamic terrorists?
In the West the sacrifice is less noticeable but far more consequential. Since the Baby Boomer Generation, westerners have put themselves above the concept of children. All over Europe and the United States, couples are opting not to have children because it would ruin their idealized version of a happy life, freed from responsibilities and obligations. With children they would have to, for the first time in their lives, put someone else before themselves. And in our carpe diem society, that is inconceivable. We are also electing to have children later, waiting till our thirties and forties, and, in many cases, until it is too late. We want to advance farther in our careers before having children, something that is becoming a necessity in the modern world. Then, of course, there is the availability of contraceptives and abortions, where in the latter we are literally killing our future.
Over 47 million abortions have been performed in the United States since the landmark case of Roe v. Wade in 1973. There are 1.7 abortions in Russia for every one birth, and the average Russian woman will have three abortions in her lifetime. About 5 million, or 13% of Russia's women are infertile, and 75% of these cases are due to complications with abortions. Abortion was legalized in Germany in 1976, and strongly correlates with Germany’s failing birthrate. In 1964 there were 1.36 million births in Germany, while in 2005 a mere 680,000 babies were born. Once abortions became legal in the western wold, the West’s birthrate began to decline at an even more rapid pace.
The combination of a “me first” carpe diem society and the ability to perform abortions may be the death toll for Europe, as our culture is overwhelmed by a much more dynamic and forceful immigrant population. If there could be a change in the nature of Islam, perhaps driving this world religion towards its more pacifistic, spiritual Sufi roots, then perhaps the situation would not be as consequential. But there are certain aspects within Islam, more so than with any other religion on the planet, that make it more violent and more prone to fundamentalism, and if something is not done, then that extremism could engulf the entire European Peninsula.
