Lately, as a musician, I have noticed a huge increase in the amount of people creating masterpieces. We're all working hard to make ourselves happy. I don't see many groups or musicians striving to be picked up on a label or trying to fit into a specific genre. I love this musical revolution! It makes me happy when I know that my generation is going out there, expressing themselves with only the motivation of expressing themselves. I have met so many wonderful people over these last couple of years. I can't even begin to tell you how optimistic they are despite the fact that they are sleeping in vans, couches or even floors and living off of fast food. They aren't trying to make a million bucks, they aren't trying to make a name for themselves... No. They are trying to take their views on the world, politics, society, life, everything and tell it to an audience through song. They may not be the next J.S. Bach or Steve Vai, but they are happy with the fact that these songs that they play create emotion. Every musician, including myself, feeds off the emotion that their music creates. All I want is to see more of this!
Musically Inclined?

I am a musician. Though, not professionaly. I play the violin, viola, and the piano. I play in the Wind Ensamble and the quartet of my college. Thank you for your encouraging words!
I just picked up the violin. I'm having trouble maintaining the tuning pegs. Any suggestions?
It's so rare that people make music just for the beauty of it anymore. So many are obsessed with records deals and such that, finally, people are doing it again to make others FEEL. I recently went to a composition recital at our Music Department and realized that people are really composing from their hearts (isn't that what contemporary music is really all about?).
Play Strong!

What's wrong with rap/r&b artists? They make music too.
