I have to take a few moments to say thank you to one of my personal heros. He has shown that hard work and perseverence along with intelligence and desire can create in someone a fire to do the sometimes impossible. Brett Favre played the game of Football with a passion few harbor these days. Unlike many of his contemporaries playing the game today he had FUN with the game and is going out in style knowing he has accomplished his personal best and that he has no more to offer. His leadership on the field along with his personality off the field have made him a hero to millions of Packer fans world wide. He had his struggles but he still persevered. Now I sincerely hope he spends time with his wife and children and enjoys what like has to offer. Perhaps one day Brett will don the hat of coach but that is a choice he has to make. I can only hope that, aside from questions and well wishes, the media will allow him to retire and show the character and intelligence that he showed on the field and let him live in peace with his family. Retirement at any age is not an easy thing but his future is long and he has opportunities to share his wisdom and help others to grow into truly awesome and inspiring men and women.
The Packers Nation and the state of Wisconsin will miss seeing his boy-like charm and charisma on the field but I guarentee the other teams in the NFL are breathing a sigh of relief that #4 will not be under center to wreck havoc with their secondaries.
Thank you for reading......
