In my Humanities course I was reviewing for my first test. I came across this passage about the Greeks and about how music played an active role in the community. It went on to say how music influenced the way they lived their lives and even Plato belived that childrens education should consist of learning music. I got to thinking about the world today and what role music plays in it. We can listen to music in our cars, at home, on handheld devices, at the store, at a restaurants, almost any where these days. I thought it was so amazing how music is so active in our life. Music is like your identity. If you had nothing you could use to seperate you from everyone or maybe less, it would be music. Its like you can not tell a book by its cover thing. You see someone who dresses out in full cowboy attire, I mean boots, hats, and chaps, and you think that they listen to country and they tell you they actually listen to mainly pop sounds your like 'wow, really? you do not look like the type of person who would like pop.' See, at some level we are judged by what type of music we mainly listen to. Music flows through our bodys and shake and move us. I just was thinking about what an amazing thing music is. Something so simple and common, yet so complicated and diverse.
Feel the Music?

music is a huge part of my life; in certain situations when i can't exress how i'm feeling i just flip through songs on my computer until i hear lyrics that fit...
but there are some people that say they don't listen to music, and i'm just flabbergasted....i don't get how someone can be without it!

People are judged by the music they listen to, and it's not really right, although I admit, I do it too. I am more likely to become friends with someone who listens to the same music as me because I basically cannot carry on a conversation with someone I have just met unless it is about music. It definately affects my life, it gets me through some of the most difficult times in my life. If something can do that for you, then to me, that is pretty powerful.
I listen to music constantly, and it's all different types. except country. there are definately sterotypes in music- like if you see a guy in really skinny jeans, hes emo, or a girl in spandex leather pants, she might be rap. but people will surpirse you if you just give them the chance/.
