As a people we tend to label things in order to better understand them ,good , evil, black, white, light and dark.
But sometimes the meaning of the thing we label can be misunderstood or lost in translation. Is this what is happening to Putin? He is not following what, we the people of the U.S. considers good and light. So we automatically label evil. Just because he is not doing what we tell him to. Who are we to say whats good and whats evil. The United States is slowly losing power, we are not as strong as we were 30 years ago. Other countries are becoming world powers and we have to accept that fact. We are no longer the big kids on the block we have to respect the wishes of other nations. Heck, to many nations we are the evil ones and we might very well be, but maybe the the words good and evil are to broad of words to describe anyone or thing.
Or is this guy really just evil. He wanted to stay in office longer then he is supposes to and wants a dictatorship.His regime controls the media , but does he control the people. Maybe so, but I don't know. He is almost acting like a child threating to rip up some cold war treaties if he doesn't get his way. Which will lead to war if he does. A war that will split the world and cause massive conflict in every country.
But before I start digging my bunker for this doomsday conflict. I will wait to pass judgment in till I see what other countries like Germany and France have to say about him. Maybe Putin is just havening a bad year.

Putin's neither evil nor a hero, but somewhere in between. I personally don't think he's good for Russia or the world. He's a former KGB agent from the Communist era, an ultra-nationalist, and ambitious for power. Even after he left the presidency recently, he simply took up the post of Prime Minister.
Unfortunately, he's gotten into many Russians’ heads. Russia is not doing so well, and many see him as a solution. There's a popular youth group in Russia which passionately supports him and the old ideas of imperialism and militarism. The first military parade in Russia in the last twenty years occurred last week. He's dragging Russia back into the past.
Again, he’s not evil, but he’s not exactly an outstanding citizen of the world.
