Please don't do this on Myspace

If you are on Myspace, you probobly are noticing an annoying trend. I am speaking about people begging for comments by sending bulletins. "Go comment my pics." Every two seconds I get one of these, and you know what it does? It makes me never comment them again. If someone bugs you to the point that you comment them, is it really a comment? To me, its just buying time so they wont bug you anymore. So heres what we should do, The next time someone bugs you to comment their page, do so. But, put the following: "Everyone, I was bugged to comment this picture. Isn't it sad that someone cares so much about what someone thinks about them." That should do the trick.

I agree. It's like, if I want to comment your pic, my God, I'll comment your pic.

haha, I like your idea. I believe that a comment should NOT be said unless it's deserved. Though I'm sure your opinion would change if your girlfriend/boyfriend asked you to comment on their clothes, I think it's like the same thing...Some people need a life outside of myspace.

That is sooooo true!!! It's crazy just how obsessed people become with My Space. Trust me, once you get over the excitement of finally figuring out how to do a layout, putting pictures on your page, and adding new friends, My Space just won't seem all that exciting anymore.

Yes!!!! Its like asking for a compliment. The thing that makes a compliment or comment special, is that its a surprise!!!!!!!!

Yea I hate when people beg people for comments, friends, etc. ANd i hate when they post a caption like "eew I'm so ugly" just looking for compliments.

I hate when people bug for comments ingeneral. I don't use Myspace because the whole idea behind it is crazy to me ingeneral, at least the idea I see via friends and such.

I seriously agree. I can't stand it when people do that to me. They just want to show off that they have a lot of comments. I also hate it when people get famous people to be their friends. How do you know that it's even them? But maybe that one is just me, hahaha.

I just think if you say something it's because you mean it and you felt like saying it. When someone begs me to comment I usually comment something sarcastic and borderline rude. If we're friends and you have a picture I feel like commenting on... guess what... I WILL DO IT. But I have more important things to do than sit around and rack my brain for a pointless comment.

Thanks for posting this... I completely agree.

Haha I agree. I don't understand why people do that.. I guess because most people only look at the bulletins, not at the person's site everday.

While it's true that asking for comments is ridiculous, the post will less often say "COMMENT ME BITCH," and more often simply inform friends of a new photo or blog's existence, so that those who already care and wish to see those things do not have to look through every one of their friends' pages every day to see them. I don't often go comment-begging, but I know that most of my friends actually ARE interested in seeing what I've done when bored in a room with my camera, or in reading about my latest personal frustrations. This is usually because they are between the ages of fourteen and nineteen, and are bored quite easiliy--but it is nonetheless the case. I don't expect a comment, but it's nice to get it out there anyway.

"The selection shows that manipulation is more important than genuine communication in this culture because honestly, who would want to go to a party for a bitch like Berkshire if they knew what she really thought about them?"
