I recently joined a blog site similiar to this one in the hopes of receiving that scholarship. In order to qualify for the scholarship, I had to answer two questions in less than 250 words. I thought I would post the questions and answers on here to see what everyone thought. If you have time I'd love to hear your responses to the questions. [If you would like to apply for this other scholarship go to zaadz.com and fill out the short, [free], application]

Two: How are you going to change the world?

I have many personal convictions regarding the society that I live in and the government that I adhere to, but the one most deeply rooted within me is the existence of slavery in the modern world. I believe many of the world's problems, result from or are not resolved because of a lack of unity across the globe. In a society that was truly equal, men and women of every color could work together to find positive solutions, but society has taught us that it is more important to argue and accuse than debate and resolve. This is a major problem and it's main cause is blame, or finger pointing. I believe "finding who is at fault" is one of the reasons slavery continues in such a graphic way and has not been stopped. Slavery is a brutal imprisonment, it is the control one man, woman, or group has over another, and it is wrong. Politicians from all parties, religions, and countries agree it's wrong, but they haven't taken steps to abolish the world-wide horror. Why? Because some politicians blame an other race, some blame a higher tax bracket of citizens, and some because their pride denies compromise. All of these reasons are selfish, and all cause millions of slaves to be imprisoned and die, daily. My deepest desire to the effect of changing the world, is to abolish slavery and free the 27 million lives currently imprisoned as slaves all over the world.
