Since the beginning of this presidential campaign, the "elephant" in the room has always been the fact that Barack Obama is black( at least half black). It seems to me, and many other rational thinking people, that a large portion of white voters can't be open-minded enough to accept the 'possibility' of a black president. This is proven through many polls taken, including a recent one which was shown on CNN about a week ago that showed that 40% of white people in this country still harbor strong feelings of hate and discomfort towards black people, which is why they won't be voting for Obama. This is purely idiotic. I think that people should realize that it isn't 1845 anymore and black people are actually PART OF THIS SOCIETY. Also, for people to say that they're voting for Obama because they feel they owe it to black people for 200 years of slavery is simply stupid. Not that we need to forget about slavery, but it ended over 200 years ago. If there is a reason why a black person should be president it should only be based on the principle of equality and his ability to implement the right tasks in this current deteriorating society.

I once wrote a blog which deals with the same issues you have brought up, I deleted it!
Some things in this world take time, If I wouldn’t know any better I would presume Barack Obama is more or less a suicidal type of person, lol.
Some individuals in the US are deeply rooted with hate and they will do their best in order to push this hatred forward and upon others like all other narrow minded fanatics which are to be found everywhere upon this planet!
Reason why this is still a reality upon this globe, is simply because it is not being addressed properly. When I say it, I’m not talking about hate itself, but rather the root of its occurrence which is to be found in poor educational programs.
Most people don’t understand the world they live in while (try) sharing it with others!
If one would ask 200 random people too chose between 2 pilots (Black or White) before boarding a plane, 75% will automatically chose the white pilot to be in control behind of the wheel.
Funny thing is that even many black individuals would make this chose!
I’m only saying that it needs time to get rid of assumptions which are socially accepted, mostly they fade together with that specific generation in time.
The problem with older generations is the fact that some get mind stuck at an older age, while they literally try or will put some reasonable effort into mind affecting youngsters with those assumptions they strongly hold on too while believing them to be true and real.
In order to tackle the negative side effects which these mind affections bring along, it’s important to make sure schooling education deals with clarifying these issues upon a deeper level before puberty kicks in.
Most youngsters are still sane in the brain before going through puberty!
Same should be put in place in regard to gayness, to create understanding at a young age is a must in order to create a sane social environment in which personal freedom and expression are meant to flourish.
I believe everyone in the US faces a challenge to bring a needed change, I guess it’s important for all to put all differences aside and support whomever get’s to become the new elected candidate.
Whether he is to become Black or White is for no one to decide on a personal level only, surely not when inspired by hate and ignorance.
Nice blog and great read because it projects common sense, something we all need these days!
