Senioritis

A disease contracted by high school and college seniors, known as senioritis, has been around for decades, but has not been cured. Now, it is starting to attack younger age groups. Some could consider this a pandemic, which is easily spread. Students who aren’t careful can catch it without even knowing. The symptoms are lack of interest in school, failure to do work, and being absent when the other symptoms are hard to bear. Senioritis also has side effects, such as lower grades and having to stay after school to make up work that was missed. In rare but extreme cases, the patient doesn’t get to graduate. But, there is hope. There are ways to prevent, or at least overcome Senioritis, such as to think about life after the present, not wanting the years you spent to be a waste, and to think about who you want to become.
I have seen Senioritis close up. I have some friends who have contracted it and have to live with what’s going on. They have the some symptoms I described earlier even though their side effects vary. I have barely escaped having it this year. I had to stay focus and think about the summer ahead. But every now and again, it tries to sneak up on me.
If you have Senioritis, I suggest that seek the proper help and try not to spread it to anyone else. There are others like you so know that you are not alone in the fight. If we stick together some day we may find a cure.

Sweet! I love how you wrote this...it sounds like something you'd hear on the news!

And yes...I can attest to senioritis attacking younger age groups. I've had it since day one of freshman year...of high school...and it is VERY hard to deal with. XD

And that's comin' at ya' from yer local redneck hippie.
