When i open my mouth and speak the way i do

they simply say "Oh she must be Ghetto".

When i walk down the street with my huge beauty supply store earrings and my urban clothing

they simply say "Oh she must be Ghetto".

When i wear a scarf on my head or wear my hair wrapped

they simply say "Oh she must be Ghetto".

When i put different color weaves in my hair or when they hear my southern accent

they simply say "Oh she must be Ghetto".

Why am i judged by how i dress or what i wear or how i talk?

Why am i judged for not conforming to the norm?

Why am i judged when i use the words scrimp, shawty, or what up?

Why do they see my physicality instead of my mentality?

Despite how i may speak, i have sense

Despite how i may dress, i am college bound

Despite how i may wear my hair, i am in the tope 10% of my class

And with all this, I simply say " oh i am not Ghetto, Im just me"

I definitely agree with what you're saying because almost the same thing would happen to me- at a street corner, some people won't let me cross the street because they were judging me and disliked my physicality.

I feel that no matter where you go or who you meet, they will always judge you. It's like a first time impression. I agree it doesn't make anyone feel good. But what can we do? We just have to tell them what we are and what we are not. Hopefully, they'll take our words for it and move on.

By the way, I never really understood what "Ghetto" mean. My friend calls himself Ghetto and Gangster all the time. He makes those terms sound so cool.

ghetto actually has different definitions. it just depends on your perspective. ghetto can mean doing something a different way than others and having no choice. it could also be how a person acts.
