The big news story for today is Paris Hilton. Surprise surprise she's getting out early. I wonder what took them so long. I would have thought 1 day and a slap on the wrist would have been what she got. The way they have figured out her "new" sentence of 40 days house arrest (in her huge LA Mansion - so terrible) is that she was taken in late Sunday evening so that counts as 1 day (it shouldn't) Then she was actually in jail Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; that's another 3 days. Well reports are that she was released at about 2 in the morning on Thursday so they count those two hours as another day. The spokesman for the jail said that Paris had medical problems and that's why she was released. I wonder if I was sent to jail and I got sick would they let me go home???? I doubt it.
Celebrities get away with everything including murder. Look at OJ Sipmson. He was so guilty, but his high priced lawyer and his oodles of cash were able to make the problem go away. One celebrity who actually got in trouble was Martha Stewart and as far as I know she fulfilled her sentence. The only problem with that is she had what, like 6 hours way from the jail in order to run her business...... How bad can it be. She gets to get out of jail for hours everyday and go about her daily business. No regular person is going to be allowed to do that. Especailly for the crime she commited.
I think it's totally wrong that Paris, Marth and Oj and every other celebrity who has ever done something wrong always get off easier than normal people. I know somewhere in history certain celebrities may have acutally gotten more than a mild sentence; but the majority have it easy.

I completely agree with you.
It makes me sick to see all these celebrities thinking they're higher than the law, and then proving to society that they get treated like it too. SO WHAT if you're rich and famous? You kill someone, drink and drive, or get a DUI you're still an American citizen (or on American soil) and you should pay the consequences FULL OUT. None of this cock and bull "well they were in _________ and I loved that movie" SCREW THAT!
