(URGENT) Texans locked out of their own debate.

Hello world-wide blogisphere it is Adam58, giving you the inside scoop into the drama that is unfolding within the city of Austin,Texas host of the upcoming Democratic National debate on February 21, 2008.

It has been reported by many of the news agencies in both Texas and nationwide that the Democratic debate to be held on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin will be closed to all but a couple (100) spectators. This has become a bone of contention for the residents of Austin,Texas and surrouding cities. All of those citizens who will not be able to see the debate in person hae been offered a chance to see a simulcast at numerous locations for a fee of $50.00.

This closure of the debate by the debate organizers is a complete outrage to me as well as many of my fellow Texans both democratic and republican. The idea that only the individuals closest to the candidates willl be able to sit on the debate will ultimately give the impression of whether the candidates position is good or not (ghee, sounds like a conflict of interest to me). Many Texans believe that the reason why they closed the debate was to allow to elites of Austin the ability to see the candidates in person while the laymen have to watch it from home. In essence with the closure of the debate hosted by CNN and Univision, there has been a newfound black-eye placed upon the faces on the Democratic Party elite.

As always I will end with a question: Why do you believe citizens have been locked out of the debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and do you believe this will put a black-eye on the face of the Texas Democratic organizers?

That's texas for ya.

"Why do you believe citizens have been locked out of the debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and do you believe this will put a black-eye on the face of the Texas Democratic organizers?"

This is because the debate is already heated enough. I mean look at who's running. A black guy and a woman. Not exactly the norm. lol

Yes, it is intriguing to read your blog Adam58. I mean how and why are texans being neglected from being able to watch the debate. Is it not the texans who need to put their input during this debate. Or at least have an idea how both candidates react around more then a hundred of spectators. Also, the University should have at least allowed to have several or maybe allow for their students to attend this debate as well. I'm pretty sure that their university campus has enough space to be shared by many people including residents of Austin. The organization seems to have been sought out, though it was used and planned for the benefit of those who are to the need of the candidacy.

Oh Oh I know the answer, pick me pick me

One of the laymen might accidently ask the right )or wrond) question and make the party look stupid or shoot one of the bastards for being a stupid politician.

Thank you for bringing this idiocracy to my attention....Good Post
