I Look Into the Sky at Night

I wrote this for my boyfriend on Valentine's day. It has strong emotion but I don't know if its good or not. Opinions welcome.

I look into the sky at night

And see a star shining bright

My mind wanders and dreams of you

I wonder if you see it too

As if to answer it winks in reply

Reminds me of a day gone by

Reaching out for a hand to hold

Someone to keep me from the cold

And as your eyes closed to kiss me

I looked gently up to see

A twinkling star overhead

It looked down on me and said:

     “Be strong,

      Though there may be miles between you

      Know your love will never leave you

      Too far away to hold your hand

      But still connected by a strand

      Of love connecting your two hearts

      Stretching the distance when your apart

      So shed no tears and have no fears

      His love for you is strong”

And as we muttered our last goodbyes

I held back my tears, he won’t see me cry

A star twinkles brightly in the night

In that moment I feel two hearts unite

Two hearts, beat as one

Until the rising on the sun

I feel the warmth from its debut

I wonder if you feel it too
