Lacrosse

I’m not sure many people know much about the sport of lacrosse, or have the love for the sport that I do. Lacrosse hasn’t gained much speed yet in America, or around the world. It is catching on but it has taken a while. When people do hear lacrosse they probably think the guys sport, where guys beat each other up while trying to score goals. Few people know that the women’s game is much different. Opposite of the men’s game girls are not allowed to touch their opponents and the game is a lot more skill based. If you don’t have the fundamentals of the game down you are going to have a difficult time playing. Many people I know, even some that are on my team don’t appreciate the sport like I do. It has a certain trill to it…it is kind of like a mix between soccer and basketball, and the combination is perfect. Many people don’t appreciate it when they watch it because it isn’t as fast or violent or interesting as some other sports, but if you learn about the game and learn to appreciate the strings of passes and the strategically placed shots, the games becomes a lot more interesting. Also from what I have met of the lacrosse community, it is filled with many good people who share the passion for the game. One of my dreams after college is to be able to coach lacrosse and share this amazing sport with others. I am a big fan of sports and what they can offer, I believe lacrosse is an amazing sport that needs more recognition and should gain more appreciation.
