As I see it Title 9 does not work very well right now. I know a girl who gets multiple pairs of team shoes and sweat suits just because they don’t know what else to do with all the money they have because of Title 9. Although I do think that it is good to help women get into sports in college I do not think that self-supporting men’s sports should be included in Title 9.
Those self supporting sports would include football, basket ball, and baseball. Those three sports make a lot of money for the colleges and there for spend a lot of money on recruiting player… So I do not believe that women’s sports should get the money that is spent on those three sports.
If those sports were taken out of the picture then I think that Title 9 would be much more fair. Currently it is almost impossible for me to get a scholarship to a school for water polo because of Title 9 because after schools spend all their money on the big three sports and then have to match it in girl sports they do not have any money left over for the little guy sports.
I think that this solution would fix the problem caused by Title 9, at this rate Title 9 will wipe out all small men’s sports and that is not fair to men.
