How gay marriage ruined straight marriage

This has been a really exciting week for homosexuals in California. They are all finally getting married thanks to the California supreme court ruling but unfortunately, some right wing conservative are angry that gay people have now destroyed marriages.

Three counties clerks in the farm lands of California have decided that they will not perform marriages whatsoever, gay or straight. They reasons that if they denied performing or certifying marriage license to gay and straight couples than straight couples in their counties would be so angry at the married gays that they would vote for the gay marriage ban this November.

See, so gay marriage have really destroyed straight marriage. Straight people who want to get married can no longer get a marriage license from their county clerk just because gay people got married in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

So gays please stop getting married in California so that these county clerks in the farmland of California can start issuing marriage license for straight couple.

Disclaimer: can you believe this? You were elected county clerks for a reason and one of your jobs is issue marriage license for people who wish to married. For you to denied marriage license to straight people on your belief that homosexuality is a sin and that homosexuality marriage destroyed marriage is an insult. Get another job if you do not want to issue marriage license.

By the way, if anyone of you lived in california,, have gay married people ruined your marriage lately? Have anyone of you gotten divorced because you heard that a gay couple got married in santa barbara?

If I were those people who had to deal with those clerks, it wouldn't be the married gays that would recieve my ire. I hadn't heard of this until you posted, and frankly I think it's a stupid, petty sort of strategy.

Yeah, I think I'd be more likely to not elect the county clerk back than to vote to ban gay marriage.

i will not vote for them either but you have not live in the farmland of california. Those clerks publicity stunt would probaly get them re elected again. those people that live in the clerks county are like the bible belt of california.

I so hope that's what happens, but if they are rural counties, it probably won't work out that way. I don't mean to stereotype; there are plenty of statistics out there about social conservatism in rural areas.

Agreed. I grew up in such an area. It was horrible, and I couldn't imagine what would have happened if gay marriage were passed in that area.

The first two paragraphs got my blood boiling! I was about to rip you a new one and go off on the STRAIGHT county clerks who decided to ruin straight marriage! So glad I didn't have to!

Go California! Did you see the article about the 80-something lesbians who got married last week, after being together for 55 years! Too cute! i hope to be them someday..except maybe the marriage license will come a bit sooner than theirs did!

I thought it was so exciting! It was nice to see the idea that only young people are homosexuals debunked. And yes, they were cute!
