Yo fellow music lovers. I guess there are a lot of us out there. And there probably is no shortage of blogs, logs, articles, magazines, etc. on the topic.
Yet I continually find myself telling stories of my exploits of late nights and amazing experiences. And people listen, or at least they pretend to.
It's not like I'm that old but I've seen a bit of music in my time. And in what I like to think of as a fairly diverse spectrum, but yet all in the same spirit of rock and blues with a mix of jazz, bluegrass, funk, salsa, ...oh yes, and reggae. Somehow that reggae rhythm guitar hits me like a spell, forcing my head nodding and my right hand twanging up and down with my arm stationary and wrist spasming uncontrolably. (I'll definitely get back to Reggae stories later because there are really some great ones there.)
Like many other virgin blogger, I suppose this will evolve into what it finally setlles down into being. Or maybe it wont. But my initial intentions right now are to blend new stories with old, fresh ideas with classic ones, compare my new findings with those of my past, all the while, exposing my views of the music industry as it is, what it could be, should be, used to be, never will be, which inevitably will blend into my view of corporate america and its effects on the world.
As you will see, I'm a pretty liberal guy, and choose hang with a pretty free thinking crowd but actually am still a soldier of the establishment. I play both sides, and play them well. But one one side I like to think I get in, play as hard and smart as I need to, to extract what will allow me to play on the other side, in which I play openly and freely with more comfort and less guard. I've heard it been called "Work to Live" or "Work hard, play hard", but I'm not sure my approach can be summed up into a cliche.
So sit back please, come back often, enjoy, learn, contribute, hang. Who knows, maybe we've already crossed paths at a show before. Or mabye we're living parallel lives in two locations. Whatever the case, come on in, I welcome your company.

I like Mickey Avalon.
And Matisyahu.
And a lot of other artists.
