Live theatre is something I feel very passionate about. To step into a theatre in New York City and to know what goes on that night will never be exactly replicated is an awe inspiring thing. I suppose that’s why I want to go into theatre, because it’s something so much bigger than me.
I’ve always been drawn to theatre. I suppose it seems to me to be one of the last chivalrous art forms. People who go into musical theatre do not usually do so with the intention of gaining notoriety or fame. They do it because they want to share something with their audience, something poignant or funny or just odd, but something to be shared.
I feel this desire to share myself with others to an almost consuming extent. I have no intention of becoming famous through my craft. Instead, I intend to be a way for people to enjoy themselves. I want to be the vessel, the link between what the composer, choreographer, the director, and the producers visualize in their creation and what the audience eventually sees. If I can in some way create that bridge between the two groups, then I’ve served my function.
There's no business like show business
