Greetings, inter-webbers! I am Spencer, a strange beast dwelling somewhere in the abyss beneath my mom's house. I'm an avid blogger (I've maintained a Livejournal for roughly two years, if that counts for anything), and when I heard of a magical place where I could spout my worthless opinions and potentially, possibly, earn MONEY for COLLEGE, I just had to join.
Unfortunately, from what I've gleaned from the official rules, my posts have to be somehow related to currents events and significant issues, as well as being generally coherent and cognizant.
This shall be a great personal challenge for me. Sigh.
All the same, you can read my blog if you're interested in one kid's opinion on issues like gay rights advocacy and abortion, or if you want some random yokel's musings on literature and the state of the world.
In return for your readership, I promise to keep the bad jokes and Family Guy references to a bare minimum.
Take care,
Spencer

Intro posts are cliche, Not Another Intro Post posts are meta-cliche. Blogging has only started to mature and it's already veered into post-modernism.
Family Guy is a series of random references, so a Family Guy reference is like a page linking to itself. Or something.
Anyway, welcome.
"CONSERVATIVE, n.
A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others."
- Ambrose Bierce, "The Devil's Dictionary"
At this point, everything (except all the meta crap we in Rhetoric love to throw around) is a citation of something else, even if subconsciously.
By all means, don't let me stop you for making bad jokes or family guy references. I love them and I'll gladly return the favor. =)

I felt the same way. I've been a xangan for nearly three years and when I realized I could blog and possibly win money I was all on board! =) Come on over and read my stuff sometime. Some of it'll suck. I know that,. But I hope to churn out some good writing here or there.
Ahh, I love how occasionally the oppurtunity to earn money comes along just by doing what you do already. Good luck on the contest, and of course, read mine sometime, if you please.
PS: Nothing's more socially relevant than Family Guy in a blog, so let the references run wild! =)
I'm starting to think I'm the only person on this site who never posted an introduction blog. Oh, well, too late now.
It's never too late for an introduction.
FYI- I had never really written a blog until I joined this site.
I love abortion. Read more here:
