No Opinion Because I Am A Girl

Tagged:

Being a girl is tough in today's world.  We are supposed to still depend on men for our every being, but if we do, we are thought of as gold diggers.  But anyone being a strong independant woman is seen as a, well, you know.  But just because we're a girl does not mean we are mindless beings that drone over a man.

I am quite an intelluctual girl, and I recently asked for an opinion on what to write a free write paper on.  The suggestions reflected that of what a mindless girl would write of.  Nothing of politics, religion, the war in Iraq, or anything of substance that really matters.  No, because I am a girl, I only care about my boyfriend, the situation I don't like at school, or prom.  As if I am not affected by the war, the economic situation that this country is facing and is directly affecting my parents' finances, or the fact that no one gives a crap about what is really going on in the country.  Believe it or not, I have experienced so many things that some guys would not even dream about.  But no, being a girl I am only concerned with boys, make-up and hair.  Just because I may not always have a philosophical topic to discuss at all times does not mean that I don't have a philosophical thought at all.  HEY, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I CAN ACTUALLY FORMULATE A THOUGHT.  At least my main concern is not about a bunch of guys running around on a field for 10 seconds at a time in tight pants.

Give girls a chance, because we actually are smarter than boys.  We only act dumb just to reel the boys in, let them think they're the superior.  The world wouldnt have half the problems it has if more women were in power.

I ran into a similar problem in my english 11 class last year. Where I live English 11 is a political English class especially with the teacher I had. Now I live in NH so naturally everyone in my class was against Bush with a venom, however I was v. strongly against Kerry and supported Bush. I was the only one out of 30 kids to believe this and for the first half of the year no one took me seriously, they were all, "Oh, you like Bush? That's sweet". However there was nothing sweet about it, during the second half of our year we started debating. I am a kick ass debater, and when I was able to support my end of the debate with something other than, "Bush Just Sucks" the people finally started taking me seriously

Democrats and Liberals definitely rule the schools. Why is that? I'm a compassionate person, but conservative.

Give me my money to do with what I want. I want more research done on natural cures for cancer. I want to help the children.

I knew a few girls who had kids out of wed lock and took it for granted that welfare would set them up in an apartment and give them money every month (and a few losers that claim "disability" because they were considered slow in school). But there was a time my mother had to apply so me and my siblings would have health coverage for about six months after my parents divorced.

I see it both ways when it comes to the welfare issue. There needs to be a merging of minds, and smaller government.

But, that's just one girl's opinion.

I wouldn't say that in it's entireity. You think you've got it hard now? 50 years ago you weren't supposed to even think about politics. At least now you are able to without society frowning on you as much. 150 years ago, by the age of 15 you were expected to be married and having as many kids as possible before you died at the age of, what? 23?

So I think things are better, and they will get better. Until then, though, you'll just have to deal with DeFacto sexism I guess.

^ O' how I wish I could append posts.

That last comment you made there (about the world being better with females in charge) - well, I'm not so sure about that. I mean, you could also say that without Bush maybe the government would work better, but you could just as easily say that about anything, because there's no real way of knowing. The only reason I don't want any females in charge of the US government at this time is that I fear the repricussions - same reason for blacks. I am not sexist nor am I racist, but I am reasonably sure that both groups would seek vengeance that ought not to be sought. I would rather wait some years before bringing either into the major parts of the executive branch.

It's a pretty steep claim to say that the world would be better with women in charge. You could easily switch history around too - what if women had been in charge in the beginning? Things would be a lot different, and not in a good way. I'd be sure they'd parallel the situation we're in now.

Also saying that females are more intelligent than males? Again a pretty steep claim. You're generalizing, and generalizing simply does not work. What you're suggesting is purely sexist. By saying females are better than males goes against some of the principles of the society we live in.

Oh - and not all boys like sports. Even at the sportly age of 16, I think sports are pretty mindless. Honestly, why make life more difficult than need be? Toss the ball, no wait you have to spin around in circles first and shout some random color/number, OK, now toss the ball, oh not that way, that's wrong! Blah blah blah...Just makes no sense to me. Talk about astrophysics and I'm right with yah, get into baseball scores and I swear my eyes'll start reeling governmental theories of the 1900s.

However, I do feel sport is necessary. Humankind needs some kind of escape from the seriousness of reality - these large brains might be nice to help crack nuts with (which I imagine was one of the purposes of developing such a large skull), but they require a lot of different things in order to keep in check. I do fine without sports and competition, but some people (not just men) need it to stay normalized and balanced. Stop making steep claims and sexist theories, the world isn't against you - in spite of what you think. Personally, I want a girlfriend who is politically mindful, but all I find around here is girls that care about hairstyle and the latest cheerleading competition. Honestly, I'd rather you be walking around in your true form rather than in some fake one. If it makes you an outcast, fine - you're in good company ;)

I've seriously got to register for this site >_<

You think women and blacks would have seek vengence? Hmm, interesting; care to explain why you think so?

I'm a female and I don't care too much for politics ir tge war, but I'm trying to change that. I don't neccessarily think that women are smarter either. I do believe there are some insanely smart women, but there are many insanely smart men as well. Noted all the famous men in history.

I was with you all the way until: "Give girls a chance, because we actually are smarter than boys. We only act dumb just to reel the boys in, let them think they're the superior. The world wouldnt have half the problems it has if more women were in power."

I agree that women are often supposed to be less interested in the issues that are considered to be "important," but, at the same time, I don't think that it logically follows that women are superior.

Me too.
I was cheering her on until the bit about women being smarter. I'd like to think I'm very intelligent, but I wouldn't say I'm more intelligent than my boyfriend. (yeah, I would, but he knows I'm joking)

All I've got to say is i'm glad that I'm in America, at least here women have rights, I've done studies on women in other cultures, trust me even the worst situations we can have here are a sunny day in the park compared to the way some women have it.
In Arabia, if a woman does somthing to get her husband angry he has the right to burn her in the middle of the street, and whats worse is no one even blinks an eye.
As an American woman I am proud to have my freedom, to have the right to vote, to have the right to drive a car(some countries its forbidden), to be able to ask a guy out, to be me, to not have to answer to any male of my doings. Thank God for America!

Hey, I'll be honest with you: I'm a girl and I have no interest in politics and whatever war is going on right now. Religions do fascinate me, though.

What is smart anyway. I rarely think "smart" people are that smart. School's just a game anyway. I'm good at the game (so is my girlfriend, which proves girls can be "smart" too.)
