you see it everyday. all around us. people at school, work, or at the waffle house. we never talk about it because we're almost afraid to speak out, but violence is a problem in our society today. we need to realize, because of our society & influences today, kindergarten children are going to school with guns. we are teaching the children, our future presidents & world leaders, it's okay to use violence to solve problems.

there have been debates about video games, especially in this past decade. most people will say these games have no influence on our children and our teenage popularity. but i disagree. did you know the average child watches television 4 hours a day? the average child also plays video games 6 hours a day. isn't this crazy? i agree that violence in our schools, our neighborhoods, and our homes is a result of violent video games, obsecure music, and horrible hate crimes.

what do you think?

I agree. My mom doesn't allow my siblings to play anything more violent than mario brothers and whenever my 15-year-old brother acts violently he isn't allowed any electronics, including TV.

I think they promote violence in children.

I think parents need to really pay attention to the behaviour of their children, and pay attention to all influences, including friends of those children. Parents also need to take time from their own schedules to speak to their children about things like this, among other things. Parents need to spend time with their children, and moniter the intake of whatever their kids are absorbing.

Families need to spend more time together amongst themselves, period.

"I don't care" ....
is a serious misreading of my attitude.

I disagree. While there may not have been violent video games in the past, there were violent cartoons. Yet there wasn't as much violence. Or at leats as much violence linked to television. It's more about the parents being responsible for their children and not letting a four year old play Metal Gear Solid. There's a maturity rating on games for a reason, just the same as movie have a rating. People should stop blaming others and start taking responsibility themselves.

On the age. Children normally do not understand the video game..but I understand why this could change a child. I really do not know about this issue.
