Golden Mosque Bombed, Iraq Holds Its Breath

Tagged:

Today grave news has come out of Iraq. The Shi'ite Golden Mosque was bombed. Shi'ites have blamed Sunnis for the bombing, and Shi'ite mobs have attacked Sunnis, especially their mosques and religious leaders. The military had to be tapped to stop the violence by shutting down the whole nation. This will cause great hatred between the two groups and now has Iraq close to civil war. It seems to me that these attacks could have been prevented by Shi’ite. For some time now, rogue parts of the Shi'ite controlled government have been mistreating, torturing, and abusing Sunni inmates, many of who were unjustly arrested. This deadly corruption would be the fuel to the hate that was necessary for today's attack.

And stuck in the middle? America! Definitely not someplace we should be... I've read that some Shia blame Americans for the attack. Check out this story:

I don't know what to say, honestly. The last thing Iraq needs is a civil war!

Everyday, we hear about dozens and scores of people dying in Iraq, most of which are allegedly Iraqis. Such violence, seeing how it happens on a daily basis, is clearly reminescent of Civil War.

Also, I hear something a while ago about Al Qaeda being involved in a new mission called "The Big Bang". This mission was supposidely going to be the ignition to a large scale civil war in Iraq between the sunnis and shiites. The purpose: to drive Americans out of the country and to prove that the American involvement in Iraq was useless.

You simply can't control a country that is going wild and has a large scale multitude of civil war occuring on a daily basis. America's involvement, regardless of intention, is wrong. They should spend those billions of dollars on domestic needs. Consider this: How much would our country have changed had the money put forth to the wars been put forth towards our country? The answer: it would change 10 times over, tremendously.
