When I wrote last night, it seemed that so many new questions popped up over Libby's testimony that Cheney authorized him to leak intelligence information for a propoganda purpose. Though many of them still remain, was Bush in on the leak as well? Will Rove be endicted? This has a good perspective on some of them.
What sort of fallout can we expect to see from Republicans concerning this? They have done a very good job of claiming the leak was "not motivated by Joe Wilsons dissent" and "Fitzgerald is an overzealous partisan who wants to give material to the Democrats" and the Traditional media has bought into it. This TOTALLY blows those excuses out of the ballpark. Can we actaully EXPECT some fair and balanced reporting now? Can we expect reporters to not write about stories they are actually involved in?
Can we expect our Republican Senators to stop claiming that the leak was a harmless techinicality, and we are in Iraq for legitimate reasons?
I hope so, but for now I'll settle for having the high ground... Now if only we could get them to admit that Abramoff did NOT encourage his clients to give to Democrats!
It all builds up doesn't it? Bush/Cheney and Republicans feed the media, the media feeds us, and both smear the dems all the while they sink lower and lower on any ethics scale.
Yes, we can say we have the moral high ground, but as people died in NOLA 'cause of this regime, and people die in Iraq for this regime, and people starve here in our own country for this regime having the high ground really hurts like Hell.
Again, an ethics violation on the part of the republican executive. And people continue to buy it unconditionally. Is this country zombies?
ethics puts it mildly! I think there is no word in Webster's Dictionary to describe the level of moral and ethical problems this current Republican party has--AND I HAVE voted Republican in my lifetime and I do consider parts of my 'philosophy' to be the 'oldtime' Republican.
Not anymore. While this filth and win at all costs and destructive behavior continues, I will NEVER proudly be a Republican and I will not vote Republican.
