One of the biggest stereotypes in my opinion is that smart, quiet people are goody two shoes. Then the moment they step out of the box it’s like Oh my God, she made a mistake or she didn’t get a hundred. It’s not fair and puts a lot of pressure on people. Why must people make such a big deal when they see something like that? And it works the same way when there’s a person who people don’t think is smart because they’re lazy and a jock or something and then they get into a big college and everyone makes a big deal about that. What is with these stereotypes?

I had a botany teacher like that once: he wanted to see how much information I could cram into my brain, so he kept telling me my grades were horrible and that I should do better. Nevermind the fact that I set the curve so high, he had to disregard my score so that other people could get A's too.
For whatever reason, nobody expects me to be a goody two-shoes, though. Maybe because I'm poor and eccentric?
I don't think teachers should do that. Yes they shoudl challenge you but not like that.
It was bad for my mental health, but I did learn a lot of botany... it's a very fine balance.
there will always be sterotypes
Does that make them morally okay? Does that mean we shouldn't challenge them, but submit to them?
It's hard to stop stereotypes. If anything impossible. Just try to keep and open mind. It takes us to see the exception for a stereotype, to stop thinking like that
Sometimes it's hard to keep an open mind when everyone's against you.
stereotypes will unfortunatey be around forever. i think that the less people that agree with them and abide by them the less the will be in normal conversations and thoughts.
Yea....it's a part of human nature.
