So I've never been one for athletics...but this past year I've been on my bike a whole lot, so I thought this summer I'd take a long bike-ride just to see how far I could push myself. I decided for my first "long distance" bike-ride I'd ride from my parent's house in Penn Yan, New York to Rochester, NY...an apprioximately ninety-mile bike ride, including some little side trips to Canandagia Lake and along the Erie Canal. I had a friend in Rochester I wanted to see, and besides, it seemed like just the right distance for my first long distance trip. I gave myself two days to do it in, so I could take somewhat of a leisurely ride, which turned out to be some of the most humid days of the summer here in New York, where humitity is so bad you can be sitting still in your house, not doing anything and still be dripping sweat.
Both days where over ninety degrees for the majority of the day, and probably nearly 80% humitidy. Thank goodness for my friend Holly's Camelback, which she loaned to me! I have to say though, pushing myself to keep going, despite aching muscles
