The Episcopal Church on Sunday elected Nevada Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori as the first female chief pastor

The Episcopal Church on Sunday elected Nevada Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori as the first female chief pastor of the denomination and the first female leader in the history of the world Anglican Communion.

The choice of Schori as presiding bishop complicates the already difficult relations between the American denomination and its fellow Anglicans.

Only two other Anglican provinces - New Zealand and Canada - have female bishops, although a handful of other provinces allow women to serve in the post. Still, there are many Anglican leaders who believe women should not be priests.

The presiding bishop represents the Episcopal Church in meetings with other Anglican leaders and with leaders of other religious groups. But the presiding bishop's power is limited because of the democratic nature of the church. The General Convention is the top Episcopal policy-making body and dioceses elect their own bishops.

Schori will inherit a fractured church. The Pittsburgh-based Anglican Communion Network, which represents 10 U.S. conservative dioceses and more than 900 parishes within the Episcopal Church, is deciding whether to break from the denomination. The House of Bishops recently started a defense fund that will help fight legal battles against parishes that want to leave and take their property with them.

Membership in the Episcopal Church, as in other mainline Protestant groups, has been declining for years and has remained overwhelmingly white. More than a quarter of the 2.3 million parishioners are age 65 or older

Katharine Jefferts Schori, the Episcopal bishop of Nevada, made it clear where she stands in a weekend interview with CNN. When asked if it was a sin to be homosexual, she replied: "I don't believe so. I believe that God creates us with different gifts. Each of us comes into the world with a different collection of things that challenge us and things that give us joy and allow us to bless the world around us. Bishop you are being deceived, Satan came to you as an Angel of light, he has deceived you and he has you trapped, enslaved and have you wallowing in abominable perversions, but he is not showing you the price tag, Satan does not want you to know how much is going to cost you for your brief life of sin on earth, and your willful disobedience to God, you will pay with your life, you will be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched, for ever and ever. Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." Leviticus 20: 13 " 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. Bishop, do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” And Revelation 21: 8 “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral (the fornicator, adulterer and homosexual), those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars–their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur or (hell). This is the second death (or spiritual death).” Another of your bishop friends, bishop Jack M. Tuell erroneously stated, “is it reasonable to believe that God would create some with an orientation toward the same gender, put within them the same strong drive of sexuality which is present in heterosexual persons, and then decree that such a drive is to be absolutely repressed and denied? This not only defies reason, but is cruel, unfeeling and arbitrary--qualities foreign to God as we know Him in Jesus Christ. Reason supports a belief that God is in the process of doing a new thing.” Bishop Tuell is badly mistaken, God can not be doing a new thing, for the simple fact that Jesus Christ made it very clear, Jesus did not come to abolish God’s commandments, Jesus came in order to fulfill them by written them in men hearts. Matthew 5:17-18 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. James 1: 13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Matthew 15:16-20 "Are you still so dull?" Jesus asked them. "Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality (fornication, adultery and homosexuality), theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' " Not only homosexuals, but all Christians must understand that it’s not all about you, instead it’s all about God, Jesus Christ is Lord, not you, and if Jesus Christ is your Lord, then you must become his servant by denying yourself, and by obeying all of his Commandments, otherwise you are under Satan’s control. Romans 8:5-7 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Ephesians 5:5-7 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. God gave you the Ten Commandments, not the Ten Suggestions, God is not asking you to repent and turn away from our sins, God is commanding you to repent and turn away from our sins. God is not a democrat who rules by majority vote, neither is he interested in your opinions about his Commandments; nor God needs anyone else approval. God is commanding you to be obedient to him by keeping all of his Commandments, no questions asked. Luke 6: 46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? Matthew 16: 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Matthew 10:37-39 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Jesus Christ came down from Heaven as the God-Man to die on a cross, and his redemptive work was completed after he was resurrected from the death. Jesus paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world, he is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, but all mankind must receive Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth, and they must repent, and abandon and turn away from their life of sin in order to have eternal life in Heaven, as opposed of having eternal torment in hell. Mark 1:4 And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. John 9:11 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin." Luke 13: 1-5 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' John 3:5-8 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." 1 John 3 4-6 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 1 John 3: 8-9 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 1 John 5:17-19 All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. After Jesus blessed resurrection from the death, Jesus not only divided time in half, but he also drew a line in the sand, thus forcing mankind, the subjects of his kingdom, to choose sides, a person will either stand with Jesus, or will crawl on the outside with Satan and eventually will be tormented in hell forever, and God will say to you, " you did it, not my way, ---- but you did it, your way" . What are you going to do with Jesus Christ? Are you going to embrace him as your savior? Or are you going to reject him, and at any moment find yourself in hell being tormented forever and ever? Are you willing to risk a temporary life of sin on earth for eternal torment in hell? Revelation 21: 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral (the fornicator, adulterer and homosexual), those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars–their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur (also known as hell). This is the second death (or spiritual death).” Henry
