Must Hit SNOOZE Button One More Time!

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep .Beep. My fingers reach for the clock to get a relief from the alarm. I press the SNOOZE button. Ten minutes later, the alarm goes off again. I hit the snooze button. I will probably do this three more times before I actually get up out of bed. To make it even worse, I have the alarm clock laying in my bed. I know. But it’s very convenient. Who ever thought of the snooze button anyway? Well it is supposed to help silence the alarm and give you 10 more minutes to sleepy heaven but it hurts you in the long run. Then I wonder why I am running behind schedule when it comes to dropping off my baby at daycare and getting to work on time.

When we all used to be kids, our parents would always make us go to bed early. We always felt it was unfair because we would be missing out on something. But now since we all have grown up, you would think we would abide by that schedule. Instead, a lot of us don’t go to bed until 10, 11 or maybe even 12 at night. What a lot of us don’t realize is waking up late does hurt ourselves physically, emotionally and mentally.

Hitting the SNOOZE button:
• Makes you run late
• Ruins your schedule
• Get stressed
• Rush to get to work or school on time
• Make you drift back off to sleep
• Procrastinate

Waking up on time when the alarm goes off gives you:
• More rest
• Have prompt Schedule
• Relaxed
• Prioritization
• Become more alert
• Happier mood

But many people say it’s not that easy to just get up and go about your day. Here are some very good tips to waking up.

1. Have a good reason to get up.
2. Be productive in the mornings.
3. Get enough sleep.
4. Go to bed earlier.
5. Sleep more effectively.
6. No more another 10 minutes.
7. Jump out of bed.
8. Use an alarm clock, just not the snooze.
9. Establish a stable routine.
10. Have something to look forward to.
11. Be aware of the consequences.
12. Remove the option completely
13. Have a similarly motivated buddy.
14. Keep track of your times.
15. Review all the things you got done.
It won’t be easy to just jump into this routine of getting up on time. It’s easier to fall asleep, but getting up is the hard part. But with determination, it can be done.

For an alarm clock. I put it right next to me. If I really have to get up I will get up as soon as the alarm goes off. I find this effective. If I do not have anything important than I have to have someone else wake me up because I will not get up. I go to sleep around 4-5 in the morning. Normally I will get up around 12:30 or 1:30.

My family is on a second shift routine so our nights are like normal people's days. For example my dad goes in at 3 and works until 11. My work rountine is similar. It sux but oh well. Good tips.

You are some late birds in the house aren't you! Well you and your family are lucky. Most people have to wake up early whether they want to or not. I leave my alarm clock in the bed and that is not helping me at all. Thanks

Alarm clock across the room..then you have no choice but to get up out of bed to shut it off.

This shift sux. Your whole day is ruined. You work through the whole day and through the night. Then by time you get home get a shower and relax it is 1:00. Then you have to eat and plan out what you are doing for the next day. It sux to get up early but I would rather do that to have part of my day.
