It's April 12 here in Northern Michigan....and it's snowing. Now, this is not completely abnormal, as our weather jumps around all the time (i.e.: you know your from michigan if its normal to use the AC and heat in the same day). However, it does raise the question: is winter only going to keep getting longer? Is our weather only going to become more unpredictable?
It also makes me think about global warming - is this why we're getting snow now? And why it's going to be in the 60's monday? I've heard that some animals have even changed their mating seasons, and plants have changed their blooms - ever so slightly - to make up for the changes caused by global warming.
How can people believe this isn't a problem? I can understand the perspective that the Earth moves in cycles...but how is treating our planet the way we do helping any? Gas emissions, energy consumption, land fills, etc. can only be speeding the cycle up.
Reduce, reuse, recycle....such an elementary concept. However, I think if we all do just a little bit, we can curb the cycle. "Going green," doesn't mean taking your whole life and changing (although this would be best), but perhaps just doing one thing that's "green." A whole bunch of little things add up quickly.
So, I'm going to ask you, readers....what are your thoughts? Have you experienced this crazy weather? And if your someone who doesn't think global warming isn't a problem...please explain yourself.
