ANIMALS BECOMING EXTINCT! Help, they need you to care!!!

elizabeth.hyder111888's picture

There are so many animals that are becoming extinct. One way that you can help is, if you have a facebook, add the Endangered Animals Hug application. That way you can send hugs of endangered animals to you friends. There are many species that are becoming extincet.. Cats, wolfs, foxes, whales, birds and many more. Here are just a FEW of the species that are becoming extinct. We must act in order to preserve these magnificant animals. The list includes the Gray Wolf. The Artic Fox. The Giant Panda. The Red Panda. The Gorilla. The African Elephant. The Giraffe. The Black Rhino. Also the Polar Bear. The Fiordland Penguin. The Sea Otter, which is just an adorable animal! The Hawaiian Monk Seal. The Humpback Whale. The Manatee, which is such a peaceful animal. The Koala, which is so cute! The Bald Eagle, our national bird! The Snowy Owl, which is pitured below. And the Black-Footed Ferret. These animals are just a fraction of the animals that are actually dying out. They need our help! They are seriously helpless without us. Though, I am sorry to say that the human race is the main reason these precious animals are dying out! Care about them because they need it!

Uh, the bald eagle has been off the endangered species list for a few years. You might want to check your facts before you bring in sob stories.

And since when did a hug to an endangered animal ever save them?

I got my info from facebook. I would think that they would be correct since they are a decently big website!

Well when facebook becomes the leading source for this information then I'll take it seriously. As Jackbenimble said, a lot of the animals you put up aren't really endangered. Making yourself look foolish, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

I doubt sending annoying Facebook invites is gonna help the animals.

And you posted a very similar blog like two minutes ago. Why didn't you at least condense them into one blog? Then nobody would get ticked that you're posting blogs too often.

The grey wolf has never been endangered. It has had a thriving population in Canada and Alaska. It has been reintroduced in Yellowstone Park and there is now a a thriving population in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. A lot of people argue that these animals were never gone from these states but just very rare. The imported experimental populations have been de-listed and management of these populations which are reaching nuissance proportions has been turned back to the states. I believe all three states now allow some hunting. I know that in Wyoming there are some counties where they are protected and some counties where they are managed for hunting as big game animals and some counties where they can be shot on site as vermin. They wreak a lot of havoc on our struggling ranchers and are extremely unpopular animals here. They have really knocked down the elk herds and people like the elk a lot better than wolves.

The black footed ferret looks like it might be a recovery success story. It was never the victim of man but rather the victim of always being a rare animal with a very small range. It was wiped out by disease in the praire dog population and was long thought to be extinct. One small population was discovered in Wyoming and from 5 or 6 animals, thousands of ferrets have been bred and reintroduced over a broader range in several states then they've ever had at least in modern history. It looks like they will make it. There is certainly no shortage of praire dogs for them to eat. Praire dogs are over-running the state and everywhere they take up residence turns into a desert.

The polar bear's demise has been greatly exagerated by Al Gore. There are something like 13 distinct populations of polar bears and all but two of them are stable or growing. The polar bear population has increased from 5 -10 thousand in the 1950's to about 25,000 bears now.

There is a lot of misinformation floating around. There truly are several species of animals that are in trouble but there is a lot of hysteria too. In Wyoming there are so many more animals now then when I was a kid it is starting to be a problem. Just about any hour of the day I could open my back door and shoot a deer (or half a dozen deer) without ever getting off of my TV couch. The grizzlys are becoming a really big and very dangerous problem in parts of the state and they really need to be de-listed and their numbers managed.

We are doing a pretty good job of protecting animals in the USA. They are in real trouble elsewhere in the world where population growth is out of control. Yet another reason to think about our immigration policies because at current immigration rates, a billion people is in our destiny and that won't be good for wildlife.

You would think that attacking someone because they truely care about a certain issue would not be allowed right. It just burns my bubble that you can make such derogatory comments(not just you). Polar bears are becomeing extinct. That is a true fact. And sorry for trusting facebook!

Well it wasn't attacking. He simply stated facts. I think it is really sad that you think animals are more important than immigration. Now that "burns my bubble". And don't trust facebook.

I agree with you, animals are important and I think it is important to care for them.
However, I do find it silly to send them a hug. I however am curious what your stance is on science... are you a creationist or an evolutionist... because if you are either, you would see that animals have been going through this throughout history. It is not natural to stop the death of things, it throws off the whole planet, no matter who's side you are on. Saving all the animals and all the people in the world, only leads to over population and disease. Not to say I wouldnt try to save my dog, or a friend from dying, but accepting that it natural... is half of the battle.

Could you prohaps share the links where you got this information? Thank you for posting this blog. Maybe next time you could include information about how humans are affecting these animals and other ways we can help them.
