I want to raise awareness for children that have fallen victim to child abuse,sexual abuse, and/ or neglect. As and adult who grew up with a verbally abusive and sometimes physically abusive guardian in the home, I know what is it is like to grow up in that situation and I want to help kids find a way to have a safe haven away from the anger, abuse and loneliness.
Child abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect can lead to life long physical and mental underdevelopement and disfiguration. Many children who were victim to any form of abuse seems to have short tempers, displinary problems, a fear of adults, depression, and sometimes, more often than not, teen pregnancy.
I believe that teachers,parents, or guardians(that do not know about the abuse, if that's what's happening) should know the signs of abuse and neglect and should report it immediatly. If you suspect your child is being abused don't cover it up, don't try and look the other way. Call the police!
Don't hurt your child even more by ignoring the situation.

Thank you for bringing this up. Child abuse and neglect are terrible things. Honestly, I think some people need to take IQ tests, personality tests and "What to Do in This Situation" classes before they have kids. Some people should just NOT procreate.

i usually hate when people put you words in quotes to parrot them back, but you said it perfectly. The only thing worse than abuse is just fucking ignoring it.

Before I start saying anything I thought I would just show you I know what I am talking about. When I was 8 I was raped by one of my friends who was 7 years older than me and then again when I was 12 by my uncle. When my step-dad moved into my house he was very abusive both physically and mentally.
I am 19 now and I live on my own, but my past has effected me but now I just look at it as something that has made me a better person. Well I thought because of my experiences I would add to this and tell you some signs.
If someone gets defensive very quickly when you start talking about something related to abuse.
If someone is very reserved and does not like to be touched.
If someone does not want to be alone with someone in a room.
(It took me many years to be able to be alone in a room with someone, I wouldnt even feel safe alone with my dad. My dad would never hurt me and I love him very much but it was just over-whelming)
If someone in your family spends A LOT of time alone with your child.
If your child is acts weird if you ask something about someone.
(I would get very angry and defensive when my mom would ask me questons about my uncle. . . . He said he would kill me if I told anyone.)
If someone you know has bruises they wont explain or bruises that re-appear.
I could go on and on listing things but the main thing I just want to get through is that child abuse is not a joke, it is not something that should be over-looked. If you think anyone has been abused you should report it RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!! Its better that you were wrong about it, then you being right and not saying anything. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you are being abused go to the police they can protect you. Go to anyone you trust that can help you. You are not alone in this and you can get help.
