Okay so I'm just venting a little.
See I've lived in Florida practically my whole life. I have always enjoyed it here, I mean this is really all I've ever known, and I'm fine with it. Beyond the busy busy tourist seasons, and the 80 degree winter seasons, I've pretty much always been fine living here.....That was until....I visited the Carolinas.
I went up to the Carolinas this past winter season, like 4 days after Christmas. It was beautiful and I actually got to enjoy a very cold and very snowy winter season. I had never seen snow and am still very happy about this. But you drive around there and you wave at people, say hello, and say thank you, and you ACTUALLY GET A RESPONSE. People up there are so friendly it is amazing.
I came back to Florida, Orlando to be more specific, people do not wave, they don't say hello, you hold a door and you get no thank you. Here are two examples of the effect I think Florida has on people. I went with my family and my boyfriend to Cracker Barrell the other day for dinner. My boyfriend bumps into this woman (not to be crude, she was taking up like the whole aisle), well he bumps into her, he turns immediately, he apologizes, and waits for a response....what does he get??....he gets merely a nasty look, and a roll of her eyes. Was that honestly necessary?? Not really that was actually very rude. So okay then we go to Publix the other day, and we walk past this woman, and smile at her, what did we get, nothing but a nasty look from a woman who apparently was very disappointed with here life. What do we expect to teach our children if we can't be curtious? And we wonder why children today have no respect, well because adults have none for one another.
I really would like to know, why it is that different parts of the United States, have friendlier people and others have people who are just so unhappy. I am very happy with my life, and couldn't imagine being so disrespectful, exspecially to someone I don't know. What is it with the attitudes today, and what can fix this??

I only been to Florida twice , and I loved it. The people were so nice and friendly.
Though I have to admit I was there as a tourist, so that may make a huge difference. My sister lived in Florida for a year and she loved it so much.
The one thing I really liked about Florida is the people there seemed so open minded and it seems to be segragated. Unlike here in Illinois, where it seems people tend to only interact with people like themselves.
In about two years I'm looking to make a change and move and it is between Florida, Texas, Cali. I'm looking for a state that is more open minded and I'm going to start my own nail salon and spa. So far these are the top states for nails.
But just to let you know, there are plenty of rude people here in Chicago. And cold snowy wheather as well.
I just played the hand I was dealt..... I'm just playin to win ;-) (rapper 2Pac)
