By heart I am a Libertarian.
I feel as though NO governing body should determine what is right for me and my family. Now I know some people will attept to use my previous post against me but honestly if the government were to suspend all amendments basically legalizing every personal choice. I would be for it.
Now, what would be illegal? Well, of course murder, theft, assaults on other people....you know violent crimes.
Now that means that everything else would be perfectly legal. name something.
Gay marriage----LEGAL.....I only oppose it in our current socio-system......
GUNS...There would be no rules against gun ownership....except that you could not kill or threaten an individual with it........
DRUGS!........Legal eagle....smoke what you want....inject what you like....just keep it away from me
SOLDIERS ACROSS THE WORLD.....come home........America would have to give up its imperial intentions.....
If there were no laws in place to put stigmas on personal choices, then the country would be alot more tolerant of others.
would it?
if no-one was watching what would you do?
If there were no civil rights acts/ womens right acts do you think people would have changed their behavior?
I hope they would have because i feel that this is the final frontier of human development....knowing what is right and doing it...regardless of rules/laws......

I totally agree with you, for the great experiment of Democracy to work we must have freedom, liberty, and a less intrusive government.
And we need to get rid of the idea that we're a democracy.
we live ina two party dictatorship....
Pft, no. We live in a constitutional republic that believes it is a democracy which allows two parties to control the entire political scheme.
first i dont know what pft means, and secondly if two parties control the complete election process, then that sounds like some sort of tyranny.
Pft is like bah.
They haven't taken complete control of the election process however.
tyranny
Main Entry: tyr·an·ny
Pronunciation: \ˈtir-ə-nē\
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural tyr·an·nies
Etymology: Middle English tyrannie, from Middle French, from Medieval Latin tyrannia, from Latin tyrannus tyrant
Date: 14th century
1: oppressive power ; especially : oppressive power exerted by government
2 a: a government in which absolute power is vested in a single ruler; especially : one characteristic of an ancient Greek city-state b: the office, authority, and administration of a tyrant
3: a rigorous condition imposed by some outside agency or force
4: a tyrannical act
The government isn't even completely tyranical yet, it's moving slowly toward it, but it isn't yet. The parties don't have absolute power or you wouldn't have any third party candidates whatsoever.
what third party candidate gets the same media coverage, or corporate dollars as the two main party candidates.
the more i think about it, the two main parties along with corporate america, and the media have it pretty sewn up.
where else does power lay?
The fact they exist speaks volumes greater than the volume that drowns them out by the mass media. If we were truly tyrannical then we would have no third parties whatsoever. The media and politicians might have it sewn up, but that doesn't mean it's tyrannical.
i get you.....but think about how much power lies in the media, government, and corporations......
think about the percentage of americans who work for one of the three, whether it be a goverment job, a corporate(office) job, or in the entertainment/media. thats basically all jobs
Ok, I see where you're coming from. That is why I like art house and indie stuff when it comes to film and music.
Well, even thought this isn't part of the extremely long discussion above, I had a comment. I agree with you almost 100% except for the gun issue.
"GUNS...There would be no rules against gun ownership....except that you could not kill or threaten an individual with it........"
So, you really don't have a problem with some random Joe Schmoe walking in off the street and buying an assault weapon? I'm all for personal freedom, but I still believe in regulation. Take the drug thing for instance. Legalize heroin, fine with me, but limit it to personal use within the home, and heavily regulate what is sold so that when people buy heroin, they are buying heroin, not heroin cut with some mystery substance.
I'm sorry......HAND GUNS
