Beware of Phishers!!

You know- somehow when I open my email account, I am always greeted with you have 567 new messages.  I'm not even lying.  I guess it's because I spend a lot of my time on the internet.  I like to shop on e-bay, purchase online, and well sometimes I even fill out stupid surveys, but does that give a person the right to find my email address and start sending me a bunch of SPAM- not the stuff you eat either- LOL I crack myself up!

I never knew there was a word for people trying to get your money through crazy emails, but there is- Phishing.  I watched a Dr. Phil show a couple of weeks ago( don't laugh, I was very bored) where women lost a lot of money from men who they met on the internet and fell in love with.  These people who are trying to make the "too good to be true" thing look and sound true are everywhere.  They will send you emails telling you how you won the lottery, or they will tell you how you can go into business with them and make millions.  They just slip in by the way, give me your bank account number and we will transfer the money.  I mean really, why would anyone fall for this?  Well, as we know, we have a lot of good people who are down on their luck.  That is why people are always looking for a way to make life better, and to be honest, after working your ass off these emails start to look appealing.

The average money that victims lose is anywhere between $250.00 to $1200.00.  Geez, what is so horrible too, is that most people who lost this money, didn't really have it to give away in the first place, and definitly can't "bounce" back from the devistation that it was just a scam.  I was ignorant to how extreme this was becoming so that is why I decided to blog about it.  Maybe if I got the word out, then you won't fall victim to another phishing accident.
