After the tragic events at VT, you think that every college would have made new and better plans to inform students of an emergency. I go to middle tennesee state university and our first day of school was this past monday. The first day of school there was an e-mail sent to multiple staff that said there were multiple bombs throughout the campus. The president of out university sent out an e-mail, but it did not reach the students of the campus. Many people did not know about the bomb threats until the 10 oclock news that night. I would of thought that the biggest school in tennessee would of had a better safety procedure. I hope after this incident that the university will do better at notifying their students.

I would say that the students need to be the ones to press for better campus safety if nothing is being done....Stand strong; Be counted; Make a difference!

It's not just the student who are the ones that need to press the issue for better campus safety and security. First off, student go to the universities with the assumption that the campus has police around and that if anything happens on campus the authorities of the school should be the ones that have to inform everyone of the incident. Also, the security working the campus should inform people of what they find so that everyone is on the same page. It's good that everyone is informed about serious situations like the things that have been happening. Peoples being shot, beaten, people being rapped in campuses, these things need to be told to anyone in the area as soon as possible.
